Proud Phu Fah Hip & Green Resort stands on the land at 1150 meters above sea level on the charming mountain of Mae Rim - Samoeng Road. It is a place where you could experience the all-year-round coolness with the greenish surroundings and river flowing melodies. Rooms here are divided into 2 zones which are the Villa Zone (stream view) and Phu Zone (mountain view). The Villa Zone is a set of 9 compact size high-celling villas and another bigger villa with 2 bedrooms ideal for 4 guests. All villas are on the riverbank. The Phu Zone is a three-storey building. There are only 3 rooms on each floor plus with one room in a basement. The outstanding feature is its white tone color in contrast with the nature inspired furniture. A balcony offers you to take panoramic mountain view. Among the rooms in this zone, you can choose whether you prefer a jacuzzi or private swimming pool. The hotel does not expect you to stay all day all night at the hotel since there are also many other activities worth seeing around nearby such as the Mae Sa Elephant Farm, Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden, Mon Chaem and so on.

Proud Phu Fah was neat to stay at, but difficult for exploring Chiang Mai. We enjoyed feeling like we were staying in the jungle, and the room was clean and well-kept. There were three breakfast options, including one American breakfast, and the staff at the restaurant were especially pleasant. We were glad to have access to a pool, although it was a little chilly, even with pretty warm weather.
In hindsight, we should have stayed closer to the city since we wanted to spend most of our time exploring Chiang Mai. There was a hotel driver available for an extra cost (1000 baht for a 1-way trip) who was very kind and flexible with our desires to go to the city. Once in the city, we had an easy time finding a Grab (like Uber) driver back to the hotel for a smaller cost. However, being about an hour away from the Old Town part of the city made for longer days.
Overall, Proud Phu Fah would be a great place to stay if you are looking to hang out at the hotel most of the time! If you are wanting to explore Chiang Mai and go on excursions to an elephant sanctuary, the sticky waterfall, or Doi Inthanon, you're probably better off staying in the city instead!

My gosh, the other reviews on here are absurd. Guests blaming the resort for being too far from Chiang mai, blaming them for snakes, when it's literally in a jungle, blaming them for it being too cold, when it's in the mountains. How ridiculous. The location is absolutely stunning, with a creek running through the whole place and gorgeous jungle and mountains on all sides. The rooms are super cute and manage to be well designed, but also hidden so it doesn't feel crowded. The food was mostly delicious. The staff were sweet and lovely. The beds could be a little bit more comfy, but otherwise would recommend in a heartbeat.

Beautiful hotel, beautiful rooms, good view, all lovely staff, smiling. The first impression is the support of every staff member, especially P'M, the porter. and P'Nong and P'Fa Reception that provides excellent service Including the seniors at the restaurant Plus, there's an older man who stays at night waiting to wave the car in to park. Thank you very much. It's a really great memory.

After a long flight this was a wonderful hotel to spend our first night. It is a beautiful setting. We slept with the sound of running water. The pool was great and the food was fresh and delicious. It is a quirky place, full of charm and character.

Love the natural green environment around the resort. Staffs were helpful and friendly. Unfortunately the water heater did not work properly for the first night but the hotel gave us two complimentary nights for the next visit. Good location around Mae Rim.

This was a second visit to Proud Phu Fah, my previous visit to the hotel unfortunately resulted with a broken jacuzzi. After complaining the Proud Phu Fah team kindly and graciously invited me back for a complimentary stay - and I was not disappointed. Firstly, the members of staff I spoke with - Khun Ekalak and Khun Jeep were very professional when dealing with my initial complaint and I commend them both for their swift responses to my correspondences.
Check-in was very swift and were offered a complimentary strawberry smoothie which is delicious. Next we were escorted to our room in the main wing of the building and had the chance to view the picturesque ground and facility on offer. In addition, the uninterpreted views of the mountain were also fantastic.
The room was the tree top suite which provided private yet beautiful views of the rear of the resort. The decor of the room was simple, minimalistic and clean which was very tidy and presentable. Attention to details was great. The welcome fruit was also a lovely touch. Thankfully this time the jacuzzi in the room was fully functional and enjoyed a evening dip to relax and watch the night away.
The evening meal was also of high quality and excellent portions as well. Service was also highly commendable.
All in all this second visit to Proud Phu Fah throughly deserves a 5-star score. Once again my thanks to the team for making the stay a memorable one.

A cute boutique hotel with nine individual rooms/buildings (and another 10 rooms under construction) on a gurgling stream in the hills of the Mae Sa Valley north of Chiang Mai. About a 45-minute ride/drive from the airport/city. If you're renting a car, navigating the city is a tad tricky, but once you get out of town, it's straightforward.
It's a nicely designed place that's a little rough on the edges. Our bathroom was outdoors, and there wasn't a lot of hot water, so don't expect a steaming hot shower. But enough to bathe in quickly. There were a few bugs in the room, but nothing that seemed interested in biting us, so that was fine. You can sit outdoors on your private back deck and listen to the stream that winds around the property. Very peaceful.
Nice saltwater pool, but it's cold, kind of like jumping in a mountain stream. Decent meals served outdoors, kitchen closes at 8 pm. It was chilly overnight in late November, low of 12 Celsius according to the blackboard outside the office. But warm during the day. Good place to go if you want a break from the heat.
Nearby, I would recommend the Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden and, a little bit further back toward the road to Chiang Mai, the Mae Sa Waterfall if you want some uphill but easy (concrete path) hiking.
I got a special rate of 4,299 baht (instead of regular 5,500 baht) by selecting special rate online. The hotel called me the next day to offer me the rate. It may have to do with the ongoing construction, which was noticeable but not enough to be bothersome to me.

Totally don't recommend any body to stay here. We met unwelcome receptionist man at night shifts who spoke very rude to the guests. We purchased vouchers 1 years ago and made a reservation for today. We got the confirmation email for reservation but nothing mentioned about bringing the voucher papers to the resort. When we arrived, no greeting only ask about vouchers. I showed him the confirmation email but he told me it's not good enough and I have to send the voucher to their resort after I get back to Bangkok. How come this is customer fault.

Response from patttana, Assistant Manager at Proud Phu Fah Hip & Green Resort
I went to Proud Phu Fah with my family. We had a relaxing time there. The villa was surrounded with trees. There's a small stream passing by each villa. The room was well designed with many cute details. The bathroom was on the other side of the room where we had to walk past the small garden. The hotel's restaurant had a beautiful view. Breakfast was fine. There're many interesting places to visit on the way from the airport to the hotel; such as a monkey school, Mae Sa Elephant Camp, tiger camp, insect museum, Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden.
