We got warm welcome upon arriva by their staffs and little dog. We booked deluxe Mountain View room and it’s very nice. Room is on the second floor with mountain and pool view too. Breakfast is super and can compare with some 3-4 stars hotel we’ve ever been. We were very impressed and would come back again for our next trip in Chiang mai.

We booked this as a base to do a bit of sight seeing around Chiang Mai, knowing very little of the geography of the area. We weren't disappointed, however it's important to note that this is a relatively new hotel so the things up and running work well, but there are still many things that are a work in progress...
Location: The hotel is situated in Mae Rim which is 25 mins out of town and 25 mins away from waterfalls, elephant treks, an orchid and butterfly farm and a tiger sanctuary. We also hired a car from here and drove up to Pai to see the beautiful waterfalls and hot springs - took 3 hours to reach but was worth it! The hotel is surrounded by rural Thai landscape with some building work going on as they construct a gym and additional rooms. NOTE: you cannot walk anywhere from here - it really is in the middle of nowhere!
Rooms: The rooms are beautiful. Very clean beautifully styled, amazing views, all the extras and not a bug in sight - amazing considering the wildlife outside!
Facilities: There is a beautiful pool, which is small and the only form of entertainment on site. This can result in any children staying at the resort dominating the pool and as a result there being a lot of noise throughout the day and into the evening. The pool is located next to one of two seating areas to eat and there are several other chill out zones which are very peaceful, depending on your other guests! The food is a real hit and miss. Traditional Thai dishes were lovely but everything else was just ok, including the breakfast.
Staff: The staff could not be more friendly, welcoming or helpful. Really lovely and eager to please and help solve any problem or query.

Cool down is the modern styles resort located at Mae Ram the tourist attraction area of Chiang Mai. This hotels is awesome and good for a couple cuz they dont have a door at toilet lol The bed is nice but wifi is poor and breakfast is limit option. Overall is good for relax, stay away from phones, u can borrow the dvd movies from reception and enjoy the day!

We arrived at the resort and the kids were raring to take a dip at the pool. Kids were greeted with pretty swimming inflatable floats which we were free to use throughout our stay. The inhouse cafe makes delicious fried bananas & choc brownies. We had breakfast (choice of western or local) & dinner (local thai fare) there. Food was good. We love the cosy setup of the cafe which makes you wanna hang out there the entire day just reading. But with the kids, it was highly impossible. So we hung out at the pool. The spacious suite was ideal for our family of 4 (with 2 young kids). Very comfortable. If you wanna try something different, away from the hustle & bustle of city living & predictable hotel accommodation, Cool Downs would make a good choice. Would definitely want to visit again. The hotel is new and modern. The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped with all the amnesties and have many electricity sockets for the modern travelers. Soft bads and cozy pillows. Really comfortable. However there is not even a minimum sense of privacy. You can easily see into other guests' rooms and everyone can see you in your room if the curtains are not closed. The noise of abnoxious kid waked me earlier than I wished. I can forgive the somewhat nervous service by assuming its a new hotel and the staff is still somewhat neurotic..... but the really turn off was the food. A mixture of Thai and western menu, none of which worked. Spaghetti bolognese was very sweet. American breakfast was canned baked beans and artificial orange juice. Quite a turn off for the hotel price. There are better deals.....

I stayed here at the end of September with my girlfriend after seeing the pictures I thought it would be a nice romantic location for the end of my Thailand trip. The location was beautiful, in the middle of no where but about an hours drive from chiang mai (make sure you rent a bike or car otherwise travel is going to be costly even with thailands cheap transport) about the same distance from mon cham (not sure if thats how you spell it) which is stunning! Having the clouds at your finger tips & there's a pretty nice restaurant there too! Anyway back to the hotel.. Check in was pleasant & the room looked nice, we had a beautiful view of the mountains in the distance & the pool just below is. It was an instagramers heaven. The problems started when I went to have a look around the room, I noticed that our shower light was flickering, not a huge deal quick bulb change would've fixed it so I called down to the reception who said they'd send someone up, a few hours later said maintenance guy arrived. He managed to get it wrong & left us with a whole in the ceiling & no light to which they moved us to the room next door. At this point we were hungry & waiting to go get food (waiting for the maintenance) after moving we used the hotels bicycles which was a lovely idea my girlfriend loved cycling in the night! When we got back out room was like a sauna, putting the air con on as cold & powerful as possible for an hour achieved nothing, called the reception & the maintenance arrived much quicker telling us that it was broken.. Neither of us could sleep in the heat (gf is Thai so it's not just me being fussy) so we asked for a different room to which we were told no other room is made at the moment other than our 1st room (the hotel was pretty much empty the few days we were there, I went back to the room 30 mins later and it was fully made again as I had forgotten something & we still had the key, no made rooms but can make that room after we leave? Why not just make a room without a hole in the ceiling?!) so we had to go back to our holey dark room but he managed to get a lamp, extension cable & about a roll of sticky tape to give us light in the toilet area.. Not a sensible idea because the extension was opposite the shower so water + live electrics.. Wonderful. First thing in the morning went to ask for a different room as neither of us felt safe showering in that room. We were upgraded to an executive which was a nice touch but I would've been happy just to have a room with no problems.
Not exactly the romantic end to my trip to Thailand that I had hoped for, it's a shame because it's a beautiful place & would've been a perfect place to spend anniversaries if it wasn't for the technical problems & questionable fixes.
For some reason this is the 2nd time I've tried posting this now as the first time did nothing but process for months

Whilst the hotel itself is nice looking and the rooms are comfortable, there isn't a bathroom door so there is no privacy at all.
The restaurant and bar closes at 4pm so there's no having dinner or drinks here - you have to find a taxi and go elsewhere! This is probably a good thing because the food here is awful! When u arrive the ask you to order your breakfast for the following day 7am-11am, Don't do this! They make your breakfast and let it sit there until you come to eat it. We had the avocado & the eggs Benedict both were cold raw bacon, tomatoes that were cold & old and the poached eggs weren't drained so basically one cold soggy mess!
There are far better places to stay!
