Camping at its best. The Yurts were a great concept in this middle of no where, piece of Dordogne. The owners have put a lot of effort into making this a relaxing, quiet and enjoyable holiday location. Great for kids and those who don't normally camp. It's a great location close to restaurants, shops and vineyards.

This location is so idyllic being accessed through woods to the fields where the yurts are based. The wildlife is phenomenal here with preying mantis wild deer and hawks among some of the sights in camp. We loved the spaciousness of the yurts and the the way you are blessed with so much space in the fields and woods. The...

My family and I have had a wonderful stay here at Ecovallee. The location is perfect, Ecovallee is about 1 mile from Lalinde town centre, set in a cleared area of woodland, with an open meadow in front of the yurts and more woodlands across the valley. If peace and tranquility are what you are after then this is the...

My daughter and I had a lovely time at Ecovallee. We love yurts and Ecovallee will not disappoint. While fairly basic (no electricity!), it offers all you need for a relaxing escape. Alex and Claire are lovely hosts, and they should be really proud of what they have achieved. Definitely recommend!

My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of staying in the couples yurt at Ecovallee last week. We live in London and we wanted to get away from the rat race and back to nature for a week - Ecovallee definitely gave us this and much much more. We received a lovely warm welcome from Alex, Claire and their two...

We will come back. And when you want to come back somewhere is because you loved it very much.. The place is unique and authentic, the life in the yurt is the life project of a wonderful family. Much recommended, especially if you have young children.

We were extremely unlucky with the weather when we visited Ecovallee - it rained for much of our time there - but we wanted to say what a wonderful spot it is to spend time in the Dordogne. Clare and Alex couldn't have made us more welcome and the beautiful yurts are located in a magical site nestling on a...

We rented a yurt for a week in Ecovallee and had a great time. The valley where the yurts are located is a hidden gem and a great place for stargazing, nice view and very quiet. Claire and Alex Crowe do everything to make you feel at ease and took our 5-year old daughters every morning to feed the chickens...

I've been planning on leaving a review for two years. We first went (wife, two kids <8) in 2010 after seeing it advertised in the Guardian magazine. We'd not booked anything so we thought, "Why not" - we didn't regret it. Alex, the owner/resident/friend is great. I won't name his family because he likes them to keep a low profile,...

My husband, 10 month old son and I recently returned from a weeks holiday at Ecovallee. We booked the yurt the previous year and weren’t disappointed with our choice of destination. Ecovallee is a unique holiday experience. Alex and Clare have created a peaceful haven in the quiet valley and we felt relaxed from the moment we arrived. We were...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
ecovallee is evolving from holidays to healing. This beautiful 12.5-acre site in the heart of the Dordogne offers you a refuge from the chaos and confusion of 21st-Century living. It's a peaceful place where you can reconnect with the natural world and simply be yourself. A welcoming, non-religious space in which you can practice yoga, meditation, mindfulness, awareness – and enjoy other holistic therapies. You will sleep in a yurt nestled into the edge of the woods, shower under the open sky and dine under cover in a large, fully equipped outdoor kitchen. Lights, refrigeration and washing are powered by 100% renewable electricity and all the structures are made using natural or recycled materials wherever possible. Just 500 metres away, across the Dordogne river, the medieval town of Lalinde offers all the conveniences of modern life - including two weekly markets - while the surrounding area is rich in prehistory, nature, beauty, architecture and more. Book to stay in 2017 and you will be one of the first to benefit from the ecovallee as it is now - paradise in every sense. ... more   less
