The warmth of this place is hard to describe. It appeals to all my senses. The food is divine, the selection at the bar is thoughtful, quirky and smart. The rooms are utterly blissful, from the art work that rejects placid hotel convention to the little brown bag beside the exquisite tea selection bearing chocolate brownies even a non-chocolate lover...

Stayed at The Talbot as we were given a voucher as a Christmas gift from our daughter. Really friendly staff, beautiful room, Room 1. And dinner and breakfast were excellent. Off the beaten track, but well worth a visit. Lovely walks close by.

We stayed for 2 nights at the Talbot and loved it. It is at the centre of the charming village of Mells and the Talbot Team of Matt, Daniel, Sophie, Floyd and Georgie did everything to make our stay comfortable and hugely enjoyable. Our room, while small, was cozy and very well equipped with tea and coffee and lovely toiletries....

Great pub in a beautiful, quite quintessential, English village. More than a pub I know but we just dropped in for a drink. The restaurant looks good but it's difficult to book, even months ahead at peak times like Christmas. I would go back and try again though and it looks like a very nice place to stay as well.

We had a quick trip to the Talbot Inn Mell's to spend a night in the county and a lovely part of England it is. The walks are excellent, sadly the weather was not on our side but we still got out and stayed on the hard stuff. The room we stayed in is dog friendly and very nice indeed...

We visited on New Years Day as a party of 20 for lunch. Everyone's roast was delicious and freshly cooked. Synchronising 20 lunches cannot be easy but the service was great with all meals arriving together. We had a large refectory table in the Grill Room which created a fun atmosphere.

We stayed at the Talbot Inn for two days between Christmas and New Year and it really was amazing! in a tiny village in the middle of nowhere this pub does food drink and accommodation very very well. The thing that makes it really special is the staff, they were so lovely right from the word go (despite being incredibly...
