I don't understand why this resort has such good opinions. Maybe we are to experienced in hotels management and traveling (during last 4 months we live only in hotels and visited around thousands hotels in our lifetime). Maybe the management in this resort has changed in last time? Anyway I will write my opinion about this place where we have...

Gloriously peaceful situation, magical views across to Mt Kinabalu, abundant wildlife and beautiful rooms. Aside from these obvious benefits the real joy of the place was the people who work there. Every member of staff we came across was incredibly friendly and helpful. My children were blown away by how thoughtful everyone was there, and for children who rarely notice...

After freezing cold wind and a few tears atop Mt. Kinabalu, this resort renewed the soul. It's beautiful (and about to undergo some renovations which will make it even better I'm sure). From the moment we arrived at the jetty, we were only greeted by smiles and hellos. Shanette greeted us on our arrival, and we incredibly kind to us...

A small Borneo hidden trasure. Private island, great for rest, swim, sunbath. High standard bungalows and staff! Beach restaurant, ideal and quite romantic for dinner. Perfect spot for those who look for seclusion :)

The resort is only a 10 minutes boat from Jesselton waterpoint jetty. They have a private waiting room at that jetty. Make the guests feel exclusive right from the beginning of our stay. The hotel is beautiful, the view from our room (Kinabalu villa) is also very nice (but you have to walk a little to climb up a hill,...

A wonderful place to stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful with excellent views. The resort is gorgeous. There are several restaurants to choose from. Even though the resort is on island, there is scheduled boat service to Kota Kinabalu. Which I do recommend visiting while you're here. My favorite place in the resort, the...

Gaya's location couldn't be more perfect. The rooms are nestled around a delightful bay, scattered around landscaped gardens and boardwalks. The rainforest started right by our room, with the odd bearded pig or monitor lizard wandering out to enjoy the resort's facilities. The beach has the gentlest of slopes - it must be wonderful if you have children - with...

From the moment you disembark the ferry, you are cared for and pampered. The bedrooms are airy and spacious with a HUGE bath. Delicious food, little expensive, huge breakfast buffet. Wonderful end to my holiday

We have taken away many wonderful memories from our 7 nights stay at Gaya Island Resort this year, the foremost of these being the outstanding service and friendliness of the staff. The location is beautiful, the accommodation is great, the beds are super comfy (request a firm pillow if, like me you don't like soft squishy pillows!), the vibe is...

We recently stayed in the Gaya Island Resort, and it was a lovely place to relax after a full-on visit to see the various wildlife in Sabah. All of the staff were wonderfully pleasant, helpful and efficient and we had great treatments in the spa. We opted for the meal plan, which provided lunch and dinner as well as house...
