I have to say I was a little disappointed with the hotel. Gaya is a beautiful Island and the views from the hotel are stunning. The issues I had was that the rooms are up very steep hills, if u went down the the pool and had forgot something in ur room it stayed their, no way was u walking...

Spent 2 weeks here in May and was very impressed with the hotel, the staff and the food. My wife and I have read lots of the other reviews and don't get where some of the comments come from but will provide a detailed honest review below. The hotel itself is very good in both of our opinions and I...

Lovely hotel if you like lying by the pool. Excellent food, nice rooms & friendly staff. Disappointing though if you're coming here for the 'eco-retreat'. 1. The diving was booked out & apparently you had to pre-book (have never had this at another hotel) 2. You can't do any of the walks without a guide & were advised that these...

My wife and I have just returned from a trip in Malaysia celebrating her 50th birthday. We travel extensively and this was by far the highlight of our Borneo trip. The resort has a very special and serene feeling and which was further enhanced by the exceptional service given by the staff and management, and in particular all the lovely touches...

The thing we appreciated most at Gaya was the people. All of them made you feel super welcome and all delivered outstanding service with a smile. A smile that can only come from people that work in a happy place. So besides everything you expect from a good resort like beautiful rooms, great beaches etc this is the thing that...

Overall this is a great place to relax and unwind. The rooms are fantastic with many having wonderful views. Local wild life does come and sit on some balconies which adds character to the resort. The resort has a good feel and is kept clean, the beach is small but very nice. Food is good without being exceptional, however it...

This place is paradise. From breathtaking views of the ocean to the organic wonders of the jungle. This place has it all. I went snorkeling at the coral garden, which lives up to its name, enjoyed the best lobster dinner I've ever had. Special thanks to head chef Dolis, and Silih, the restaurant manager. Relaxed at the pool overlooking the...

Went there following really good experiences as other YTL properties. It's an island so you have to take a speed boat out to the resort. The reception in KK was frankly tatty and this should have earned us! I won't go into all the details but the resort is nowhere near the standard of other YTD properties we have visited....

Firstly hotels in Kota Kinabalu need to make it very clear .. Do not arrive at Gaya island hotel until mid afternoon ..other wise you have a long wait for room to be available. We had over two hours wait. I asked receptionist if our room was high. I expressed concern that my friend and I would not cope with...

This was a stunning resort, with attentive, friendly staff that really made our stay. The rooms were large, stylish with an incredible bathroom, although slightly tired in some areas. We had a large walk in wardrobe and had all the amenities you would expect. All the food was incredible, especially at Fisherman’s Cove. My only criticism of the resort is...
