We stayed over the bank holiday weekend and were made very welcome by the friendly landlord, landlady and local regulars - so much so we stayed another night just to stretch our holiday a bit more! I have grown up going to CAMRA pubs and it's a real shame when a traditional pub becomes yuppified or kitsch. The Falcon retains...

We stopped for a beer on a walk from Malham. It was good to sit outside on seats on the village green in picturesque surroundings. Whilst we did not sit inside the seating appeared cosy - and the food looked tasty.

Stumbled upon this appealing pub when in need of refreshment after a beautiful drive through the Dales countryside and it did not disappoint. Arncliffe itself is a very picturesque village (didn't seem touristy just from driving through which is definitely a good thing!) but we really only investigated the pub (priorities!)! Timothy Taylor beer served from cask to glass via...

We had read about this tiny pub. It had been featured on the TV soap Emmerdale many moons ago and it did not disappoint! The landlord was straight out of central casting. When we arrived he was chatting to a local character but looked grateful to have a distraction. He poured us each the best pint of beer I have...

Spent two nights at The Falcon where we were very well looked after. Good beer, good food and a very good atmosphere. Twin room was warm and comfortable which was great as the weather was cold and wet. Downstairs had two real fires on the go so relaxed and enjoyed the experience. Ideally situated for walking and cycling in the...

I fail to see what the positive reviewers saw in this place. It is in a time warp - but in no way a charming one. How can a place with cold grubby outside toilets and internal walls covered in stuffed birds be considered quaint. The windowsills covered in stones and needing a good clean sum up the place. It...

I don't usually review places I've stayed twice but this place is so good. The Landlord, Steven, and Landlady, Joanne, are really welcoming and genuinely friendly. The atmosphere is Google as is the beer; there is also a small but good selection of malt whiskies. We arrived on a Friday evening; the weather was really nice for the time of...

Out mountain biking with a group of friends Sunday just gone. The weather was pretty poor, very wet and cold. Called in for a warming coffee and some food to keep is going for the return crossing over the moors. Despite our rather muddy and disheveled state we were made very welcome. Coffee was strong and sandwiches really good with...

I have been visiting this lovely pub for nearly 30 years now, and i have to admit to it being one of my favorite stop off's for a pint, really oldy worldy original pub, that now offers accomodation and decent food really well worth the trip out

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Falcon Inn is a hidden gem. Set in Littondale the village of Arncliffe is the main village, at the top set against one of the village greens is the Falcon. This traditional Inn still serves bitter from the cask to glass via a jug (a guest ale is often available on hand pull). The Falcon is also the original Woolpack of Emmerdale Farm! ... more   less
