The Shangri-La is a lovely hotel in an excellent area. Great rooms, excellent views, accommodating staff and on the whole, I would consider it wonderful - and recommended.

My only complaint is that they have absolutely zero concept of what Do Not Disturb means. Our first night, we arrived exhausted and toggled the DND light to On. 15 minutes later, as we were getting into bed, there is a knock at the door and someone offering Turn Down Service. I pointed out the Do Not Disturb light, confirmed it was on and explained that we did not want to be disturbed. Annoying but no big deal.

The next day, we went out and returned to a sign on our door explaining that they wanted to clean our room, but could not because we had the DND light on. Right. That was the point. Good. We return and my wife wants to take a nap. As soon as she falls asleep, there is another knock at the door and it's TWO people from the cleaning crew (one is a manager) and they want to clean the room but can't because the Do Not Disturb light is on. RIGHT, I explain in my boxer shorts. WE left it on because we...get this...DO NOT want to be DISTURBED.

If you are looking for a nice hotel, this place is. If you are looking not to be disturbed, I would encourage you to either look elsewhere, or negotiate with the front desk in advance. We were disturbed twice in two days.

POSITIVE: Stayed here for 2 nights at the Premier Suite. The suite is big, clean and well supplied with bottled water. Complimentary fruits, chips and chocolates
The Kerry Sport Gym is huge! You can literally do your morning run around that big space! They also have their professional sized airconditioned, complete with bleachers indoor basketball court which my son enjoyed very much. Water dispenser with paper cups. Free use of towel.
2 staffs gave my son a cake and sung him a Happy Birthday which I am very grateful for.
NEGATIVE: Since, checking in a suite room is not new to me, I decided to directly check in at the Club which is more convenient. Unfortunately, the staff at the ground floor kept insisting that I check in only at the main reception. It was only just after a few explanation that they let me checked in at the Club Lounge. I never experienced this type of problem at their Edsa, Makati, Mactan, Boracay branches.
About the Horizon Club, it is a bit disappointing. If you compared this with their other branches’ lounge, theirs is the worst. Its like, the trays of food really have to be fully empty before they replanish it. The variety is so few. The variety of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages are okay though.
No bidet in their toilet.Date of stay: January 2020

Had a leisure stay here with my family last Feb 25, 2022. We booked an Executive Suite (2817). Thanks to Ms. Eliza who did our seamless check-in and oriented us with the hotel’s amenities. All the staffs we met are courteous and helpful.

The suite is spacious, interiors are very luxurious and room smells great! They offered us complimentary cake and banner as we are celebrating our wedding anniversary, as well as welcome treats and hygiene kit.

The bed is comfortable with fresh linens. The marble-cladded bathroom has bath tub, shower room and premium toiletries.

The property has a huge health club (Kerry Sports), which I think the largest I’ve seen in a hotel. They have lap pool and kiddie pool but advanced booking is needed.

We loved the high tea at the High street lounge, it has different pastries, canapes and comes with wide selection of teas and coffee.

The only thing that needs to improve is the breakfast buffet, we are underwhelmed by the selection, especially that we have dietary restrictions due to our religious belief. When you compare it with other luxury hotels in the Metro, the breakfast in the High street cafe is subpar.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay, we love the room and its amenities! We will definitely come back!

I booked a weekend for my partner’s birthday. The room is nice with a sizeable bathroom with bath and shower. The facilities overall were nice and clean. The breakfast on the second morning was simply disappointing... it was understood that the breakfast area was over capacity so we were seated on the high room. The cooked breakfast was not edible. By the time eggs delivered they were cold. But the time you walked around to get the rest of your hot meal, everything was cold.. not pepper or dale or any other condiment was provided. Whilst the breakfast was typical over priced as usual in a hotel, this time it was a gross waste of money. I am now going outside to have a decent meal.

Throughout 2021, we had made attempts to stay at The Shangri-la at the Fort but was ultimately cancelled because of the government’s implementation of ECQ. We were quite happy that we finally get to stay after the government has lifted Metro Manila to alert level 2. It is a refreshing break specially for the kids to enjoy their Christmas holidays. We stayed for 2 nights with a connecting room facing the High Street and Laguna Lake. The hotel was pretty busy when we came as the check in took longer than usual and there’s a long queue but there were personnel accommodating people in line and taking a copy of the vaccination certificates to be presented at the front desk. Our room is located at the 26th floor, there was a welcome cake and cookies as well as fresh fruits. Amenity kits are also available containing wipes, mask and hand sanitizer for both rooms. The room was fairly clean but I can see some wear and tear on the carpet. The use of the pool is on a booking basis with an hour interval so that all guest can have their turn, it huge so there’s no reason for bumping in with other swimmers. If there is a downside this would probably the breakfast, I feel that the food was not at par with high end hotels and the juices served were not fresh but are concentrates. Overall, we had a delightful stay as this was a refreshing way to rejuvenate specially for the kids who had been stuck at home for a long time.

Great hotel with a few hiccups.
Upon pick up from the airport the car wasn’t the one we booked, it was still a nice car but not what we wanted.
Also we had a booking for 2 people but the driver only had water and wet towels for one person.
But once we arrived at the hotel the good experience started.
Check-In was very easy even though they don’t offer in-room check in.
They provided complimentary wine and a birthday cake to celebrate my birthday which was a nice touch!

We booked an executive suite which was very spacious and modern. The suite had a really amazing city view from both the living room and the bedroom that we enjoyed throughout the day. The bed and pillows were very comfortable so we rested very well!
The suite was big enough to have a small family gathering of six. The room service was very attentive serving the food we ordered, my family was so happy with the lunch we ordered.

We had a great time using the amenities, from the gym in the morning to the swimming pool in the afternoon.
The gym had very new equipment for any type of workout we wanted to do, it’s also a huge gym with a basketball court, another pool outside and a tennis court with the coffee shop nearby.

We enjoyed a lot chilling at the swimming pool with drinks and snacks, my family was also able to enjoy the pool and they had a great time swimming!

We usually book suites with horizon club access but unfortunately it wasn’t available at that time, since we like a more private breakfast experience. So we only went once to the breakfast buffet, which was a bit crowded and we had to wait to get what we wanted. But the food was fresh and delicious with many options.
The restaurant by the pool was also great and the waiters were very attentive.

Overall we had an amazing stay and we will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family!
We would also love to go back once the horizon club is accessible again.

From the moment you step in you are definitely in Shangri-la: heavenly service, luxe surroundings and the best in amenities.

The bed was comfortable, room spacious and the bathtub grand, toiletries fancy.

It is also conveniently located that most places I wanted to visit or dine at were just a brisk walk away.

My only beef? For the price paid per night, you'd think there would be nice facial tissues in the room but nope, only nice tissue rolls in the bathroom.

The real travesty is the lack of a bidet. I'm surprised there are even rooms without bidets in a hotel like this.

The service is amazing, check in and check out is hassle free.

Temperature is being checked when you go in and out of the hotel (Even before we went to breakfast) My travel dates were also validated by the receptionist when my passport was asked. It gives you a sense of security that they are taking all these measures. Her attention to detail was spot on because she noticed my birthday was coming up and greeted me accordingly.
I got in the room and had a surprise cake and card from the hotel. I was so happy I had to call and thank guest services immediately. Spoke to Sandy (i think) and Danielle during my stay and they were extremely polite and helpful. I forgot my charger and voila they loaned me a lightning cord!

Room was spacious and spotless. Toiletries were from L’Occitane. First time to try papaya chips, i hope we got mangoes instead. The papaya chips were very hard to chew haha

Lots of dining choices in the area. We werent there for shopping but there are several stores too.

Kuya pool staff was very proactive when he saw we didnt have towels.

Our breakfast hostesses were not as cheerful, must be tired. It was a busy morning. Tasty food and lots of choices. Love the tea press :)

Highly recommended, would love to be back in a heart beat!

My family has been celebrating special occasions at theme parks outside the country for the past few years, but the pandemic “grounded” us the past year & a half.

A month after 2 doses of COVID vaccine, and a recent negative RT-PCR gave us the confidence to book an overnight stay at Shangrila at the Fort. My wife & I booked the FAM VOYAGE package, and it certainly did not disappoint.

From the surprise birthday setup inside the room for my daughter, to the customized in-house kiddie activities, to the warm & welcoming indoor dining at Samba with both children, to the in-room breakfast option, and to the late checkout, every centavo was definitely worth it.

Kudos to Miss Nicole, Miss Daphne and the Kerry Sports/Adventure Zone team, as well as to the people working 24/7 from the Guest Service Center, and to the manager, staff & the chef (who visited our table & chatted with the kids) of Samba restaurant.

Reservations done through the hotel QR code for the use of swimming pool & gym facilities maybe a concern due to limited slots per day, but totally understandable as part of their COVID measures. We booked on a weekday which gave us more access to these areas.

We’re already looking forward to our next visit maybe in September.

Thank you for understanding the booking protocols for the pool. If the 8th floor pool is booked, we also have another pool by Kerry Sports, which in-house guests may also use. I recently stayed at Shangri La the Fort in Manila for a business trip, and its my preferred hotel in Manila. The transport from the airport was easy to arrange, and very convenient when I arrived.

The room I had was a standard king room, which faced the pool side. It was well appointed, with nice furniture and decor, although there were some tears and wear in the carpet. The bathroom was incredibly spacious – it had all the amenities such as toiletries, towels, and so on – everything you expect in a luxury hotel.

The location of Shangri La is also great; it's situated more or less in the city centre making it very easy to get around to all of the nearby sites.

And then there's breakfast: if you're staying at Shangri La the Fort you must take advantage of their amazing buffet breakfast! There are so many options to choose from - from continental favourites to local dishes – it's sure to satisfy any kind of craving. And if you want something special just ask – they'll be more than happy to oblige!

Overall my stay at Shangri La The Fort was good – from check-in to check-out everything ran smoothly. The staff were friendly, professional and attentive throughout my visit, always ready with helpful advice or quick assistance when needed. For anyone looking for a luxurious stay in Manila this is definitely worth considering!
