They have a wide range of bungalows and dorms on the edge of mountain near a stream. All the bungalows are nice and clean. John has setup and maintained the place nicely. Unfortunately we could not meet him as he was back to his hometown when we visited the place. But his friend Tom was very helpful in his absence....

The bamboo bungalows are the perfect place to stay in Northern Thailand. The restaurant/chill area is very well built and thought out, with a fire in the centre (much needed as the temperature at night definitely drops up there) There is a huge menu with so much to choose from for breakfast/lunch or dinner! Lod cave is defiantly worth a...

Chilled backpacker vibe with an amazing common area with bonfire and cozy lounges. The bungalows are surrounded by green, birds and silence. Good food too, cold beer and wine. Wish i could have spend more time there, but we were doing the Mae Hong Son Loop by scooter and had to back to Chiang Mai in a few days... :(

This place is worth visiting. It is built on the side of the riverbank within walking distance of the caves entrance. You are virtually in the middle of the jungle but they do their best to provide all mod cons within those constraints. Be warned your best time to get a warm shower is in the evening. Does get cold...

Small lodge in the mountains with great staff and great food. They offer different accommodations from stand alone bungalows to a 8 bed dorm. The cost is reasonable, food is a little expensive but really good, fresh ingredients and worth it if you value quality food. A few local restaurants close by for cheaper option but not as good. The...

The opportunity to partake in guided or self guided adventures (trekking and caving) 3. The opportunity to meet like minded people from around the world 4. Great food and cold beer 5. The...

Really cozy and chilled out place. The owner is pretty much a legend. Amazing food and great location for exploring. Order the Shan Special for dinner and the banana muffin or muesli for breakfast. Basic rooms geared for nature lovers. Pet friendly too!!!

We booked 3 nights via email and were given a bamboo hut with shared bathroom. The hut was sparse and yet had all we needed. The lodge is next to a river leading into nearby Lod Cave and is a paradise for nature lovers. The owners are well equipped to arrange sunrise views, kyaking and cave tours, with many years...

This place is a must for anybody who loves being in the heart of nature. The owner, John Spies, has been in Thailand for 30 yrs and runs a very tight ship here at Cave Lodge. He organises a wealth of caving, hiking and kayaking experiences, all with equipment, guides and lunch. With a great mixture of hearty, home cooked...

This place is amazing. Timber lodge and cabins set in the forest. Food is very good and beers are cold. Plenty to do like kaying down rapids and through caves in a small group, 3 different levels available. Or if relaxation and doing nothing is your plan its the perfect place to chill out in the main lodge on hammocks...
