This architectural modern hotel has been shoehorned, into a tiny gully, between a lovely old church, a very steep hillside, a running stream with pedestrian walkway, but is overseen by the municipal swimming pool and children's play area. Yes the cubist front appearance is challengingly spectacular, but that is from the municipal pool area. Inside modern design predominates, black walled...

An oasis in a quiet town. Amazing food, amazing service, and an outstanding rooftop patio for a glass of wine in the evening. Rooms were clean and well appointed. We loved the free bikes provided, and took them to visit other neighbouring towns. Can't wait to return!

We spent 3 nights here during our stay in Rioja. This modern was the cutest surprise in an old town. Perfectly situated in the wine country, this hotel was the perfect blend of casual and modern. We enjoyed eating at the in-house restaurant and their wine bar had a fabulous selection of wines to choose from. Very trendy hotel with...

It's a modern and fancy building near the river in a small town in Basque Country. The atmosphere is quiet, a place to rest and enjoy simple things like a good cup of wine or some tasty and local tapas. The rooms are really cosy and well-decorated. The shower is as amazing as someone can imagine. I almost spend my...

Great designer hotel with interesting modern deco. Some of the rooms have open plan toilets. Ours had a curtain as a separator between the sleeping area and bathroom. It's one of those places either you love or hate because it's so unique and every room is different. It depends on luck what room you get. I believe some rooms are...

This is, as many other visitors have commented, a quirky modernistic hotel which fits in well with the spirit of the region. Its futuristic exterior aside, however, some reviewers have found it spooky, with dark interiors and challenging artwork, but whatever one's personal tastes, it is well done and elegant. Perhaps the frosty service is meant to reflect the interior...

Viura is indeed a different experience. I felt like I walked into the home of a very modern, art collector. The rooms/bath were very comfortable and the public spaces gave me the idea of lounging in my own living room and not a hotel. We had the tasting menu for dinner and it was truly a culinary experience.

Composed of whimsically superimposed cubes that seem to surge forcefully from the centre of the earth; punctuated by French windows that flood the rooms with views of the relaxing scenery. Situated in Villabuena de Álava in the Rioja Alavesa, Viura is perfect as a base for discovering La Rioja. Only 20 minutes away from Logroño and from Haro and 10 minutes from such emblematic wine cellars as Ysios and Marqués de Riscal. In addition to its magnificent restaurant, the bar, a fine old wine cellar and a gymnasium, Viura has wonderful terraces on the top floor with panoramic views of the San Andrés Church, built between 1538 and 1728, and of all the mountains of the Sierra de Cantabria. All hotel guests have at their disposal, without any charge, wireless internet connection, soft drinks from the mini-bar, gym access, bicycles and parking.
