What a great place to stay. Right in the centre of Scarborough Beach. Apartments are a good size to relax and enjoy Scarborough. Bathrooms are quite clean, tidy and large. Facilities include a spa, gym, pool and roof top barbeque and common areas. Scarborough is fairly quiet at night, so if you want a quiet relaxing place to stay, then this place comes highly recommended.

We stayed in Apartment 2121 recently. Being a "Resort" we expected something nice but found we were staying in someones holiday rental. We weren't advised of this. The good things were location, size of the apartment and parking undercover (we had two cars). The down side, the apartment needed a deep clean, filthy vents in the laundry and bathroom, not clean under the beds and used tissues visible under the bed from the lounge, blanket had visible stains and not clean. The crockery was very poor quality and lacking eg no salad bowl, very cheap cutlery. The clothes dryer filter was barely attached. All of these issues I would have mentioned on check out but on a Sunday there is no-one there. The decor was so bad, no amount of mismatched cushions make up for mismatched cheap artwork and multiple colour schemes. I think if you are renting an apartment out there should be a certain standard and this one was lacking.

We booked the Scarborough Beach Resort for a spur of the moment long weekend away and it was ideal. Nice and quiet and, as it was off peak, we pretty much had the pool and spa to ourselves. The room had everything we needed. We weren't worried about the view as the weekend was about us and not what we could see out the window. The location is away from busy Redcliffe, but has everything you need with a great coffee shop downstairs and nearby restaurants, grocery store and chemist. Take the time to check out the stars from the Level 9 roof top.
We went up just in time to see the International Space Station fly over. Thoroughly enjoyed out stay. Thank you.

I booked 2 x apartments to get 'sea views' as advertised, for a special weekend away with hubby. ( we only used one room)
Was absolutely gutted ( putting it mildly) when we arrived and had a rear-facing view overlooking the pool, and the place next door. ( people using the pool could look straight into our unit (pulled blinds down for privacy)
Noisy aircon right outside the bedroom. Both apartments clean, but very dated. Mixed variety of utensils in the kitchen.
Dangerous cord to microwave left hanging over island bench
Our allocated parking was also taken up by other guests. Very annoying.

Hi Tresta, very sad to read your review. Our website does not say that all apartments have seaviews. We only have sea views from the front of the building. Your booking through an agency does not give you the opportunity to discuss your requirements at the time of booking. Unfortunately if you don't request a sea view you won't automatically be allocated one by the online agent. Naturally the seaview apartments are a premium price and if you have only paid for a standard unit then that is what is allocated by the booking agency. If you had come to reception with your concerns and if there was availability then we would most certainly have been happy to move you to a premium unit on the sea front. I think it is a bit sad that you say false advertising - I don't believe that is the case. As for all your other complaints, I don't recall you coming down to reception to report any of them, however I would like to respond to each one: 1. If your unit was overlooking the pool, I cannont imagine how anyone could look in that high from the pool one floor below. 2.Noisy air con - this was not reported to us, but we are currently having it replaced, thank you for bringing it to our attention. 3. I do agree some units are a bit dated - we are working with the individual owners to update their furnishings, including the utensils in the kitchen. 4. The cord on the microwave has since been checked by an electrician and we have been advised that it is not dangerous as you quoted. 5. Car parks for guests are not allocated - you park where ever you want to in the secure underground car park so it is rather odd that you say your allocated carpark was taken up by other guests. Our Guest Arrival Information Letter specifies procedures for parking and states " proceed down to B1 and park anywhere that does not say reserved or no parking. The numbers painted on the concrete are not relevant to your unit." We work hard to make our guests' stays enjoyable. If we don't know you have any issues during your stay, we are unable to rectify any concerns you may have.

If all that counts to you is cleanliness, comfortable bed and location, then I guess it will be 4 Stars for you. But I payed $180 for what is shown in the pictures.

Parking is a nightmare as most of the complex has permanent residence and they all have their parking bays marked with warning signs. You are left to hunt for one that looks like it may not be reserved and park at your own risk.

As can be seen in the image of my forehead, I cut it whilst trying to un-jam the fridge door from the internet phoneline filter.

If you have pet allergies, then be warned that the permanent residents are allowed to have pets inside.

As can be seen, a wonderful curtain is provided for if you are wanting to sleep in, but good luck with that.

Plus, for the money spent, you have to wash your own cutlery and take out your own rubbish.

Room far to small for two people, no comfortable chairs just small hard cheap kitchen chairs, small old table with lifting torn contact peeling off. The one blanket dirty, toaster filthy old and dusty, power leads for kettle and toaster had to cross sink (turn tap on and cords get wet) Fridge freezer compartment totally frozen up, tiny bathroom, toothpaste on wall in shower, plus visibly filthy shower floor, pizza crust on floor in cupboard. WiFi totally pathetic (incredibly slow) expected much better as management were advised we are elderly on booking room, we have travelled a lot but never had accommodation so small, uncomfortable and dirty.

Recently had a 4 night stay. We booked our stay directly (did not use any booking agent). There is substantial construction in the immediate vicinity at the moment which was not mentioned at time of booking. For the price our 1 bedroom apartment was disappointing. Kitchen has a large fridge/freezer, a reasonable amount of utensils, crockery etc. The ceramic hot plates weren't overly clean so we were reluctant to use them in case we damaged them. Bedroom was adequate, although the mattress sagged a little in the middle. The washing machine needed a good clean - inside the agitator there was substantial soap & lint build-up. No filter in the dryer.
Kitchen/dining/living area spacious enough. Also had a nice balcony with a small clothes line. The secure parking was good.

We booked 2 rooms side by side for a family milestone birthday celebration. We arrived to find that we had been put on different floors and there was nothing we could do to change this. One apartment had dirty stretched carpets, 2 broken lounges that should have been taken to the tip. There was thick dust on the bedside lamps and all the window sills. The mat in front of the lounges was threadbare and should have gone to the tip with the lounges. In the other apartment, it had an outdoor setting with one leg was broken on the bench seat and mould in the bathroom. We had to go out and buy garbage bags, toilet paper and tea and coffee as they didn't supply enough for 8 people to stay in the apartment for that period of time and they don't service them during your stay over a weekend. We will not be using them for accommodation again.

We stayed 5 nights over Christmas in a 3 bedroom apartment . The room we were given slept 6 people but seating in the lounge was a 2 seater sofa ! The kitchen was poorly equipped (I don’t expect coffee machines but I do expect enough plates for everyone and basic utensils like a spatula) , one room stunk of pee. The main bedroom had 2 single beds which was bizarre - they had single headboards so looked like they were not meant to be pushed together .We changed rooms which was better for the last 4 nights . The carpet was disgusting, which we were advised of as apparently it was about to be replaced , but at least we could all sit together on a sofa in the lounge and the kitchen was better equipped.

We had two 3-day stays at the SBR - both very good. Whilst the motel rooms are small and rather cramped, they are well appointed and designed. The standouts at SBR are the lap pool, gym and roman spa, as well as the coffee shop outside the front door. Underground parking is also excellent. Staff were very helpful and friendly - thank you.

Hi No the beach directly out front of this hotel is not red/muddy, they aren’t surf beaches but more suited to just paddling around in the water. There might be other areas that have that kind of sand but not there and I didn’t see anything like that along that stretch of beach. The water can get a bit dirty and choppy if it’s windy but that’s the same anywhere. We had a group that had young children and a baby and was perfect. There are parts that have rocks on the ground but easy to find spots without rocks. I can have a look through more of my photos that I took of the actual beach/water and happy to send to you if you would like me to? I just don’t know how to send through this so if you had an email address I’ll send. I’m not sure about bag storage for a couple nights, might be best to email them directly with that question, most hotels are happy to store for the day for free but maybe for what you’re needing there maybe a fee. Sorry I can’t give you better answer for that question.
