We camped here for 1 night as an overnight stop between Sunshine Coast & Yeppoon. We found it to be a nice & easy place to stay as it’s not too far off the highway and you can book drive through sites, so no need to unhitch the van if you want to get going early the next day. We stayed on a powered site, with a pretty outlook of the Aussie landscape. There is plenty of space to camp if you don’t need power. The amenities are clean and well maintained. We had time to ride our bikes up to the Lake lookout (quite hilly!) but a nice view once up the top. Also fun to ride along the dam wall road. Great to be able to have a fire, and keep your eyes open for wildlife, we spotted wallabies, kangaroos & and an echidna :-)

We had a lovely stay. Communal kitchen was clean with everything you need. Amenities were clean and tidy. Only thing missing was a baby change table to be able to dress my grandson after a shower. A nice grassy quiet spot with some trees. Will be back again.

Lake Monduran Holiday Park was great. We stayed in an unpowered site and were blessed with the shade of a huge tree! The site has great amenities and plenty to do, but by far the best part of this place was the atmosphere! Everyone staying there was fishing for Barra, so within a couple of days you ended up meeting people and chatting about fishing either at camp or at the boat ramp.
Such a good vibe!

Nice park close to the lake but no views of the lake unless you book one of the cabins or holiday houses. Grounds kept nice. Plenty of bins. Fires allowed. Non powered areas with one for generators. Limited powered sites, good size grassy only. Water good. Phone service slow but works. Dogs allowed. Would suggest a fisher persons paradise for the Barra! Book swap at office. Disabled toilet. Amenities kept very clean. Camp kitchen. Small mini golf course. Biggest bonus is that it’s quiet.

Nice quiet spot, great spot for fishing, although busy did not seem to be an issue with noise. Will be back again, one of my favourite spots I call into on my way through to Cairns. Sort of a hidden gem, amenities clean and adequate,,great service

My husband and I spent a night here on our way back from North Queensland. Unfortunately we were only able to spend one night - we would have liked to spend more and will definitely return. Staff on arrival were cheerful and helpful. The camping sites are well situated with designated camp fires located around the camping ground and the camp kitchen was very well appointed. The amenities block was the cleanest we have found anywhere. Fortunately we were in a tent and even though it was school holidays there was plenty of room in the powered and unpowered sites. Had we been in a caravan we might have had a different outlook as all the vans seemed to be cramped into one area. There were activities planned for the evenings, such as film nights and sausage sizzles so families would be very well catered for. There are plenty of walking trails and drives to be taken which we will do on our return trip. The scenery around the dam rivalled anything we have seen in USA or Canada.

We have travelled around Australia and must say we are very disappointed with park.
1. Amenties do not seem to be cleaned - went into same shower 3 nights shampoo and soap from previous nights still there.
2. Toilets early morning seem to be clogged with whatever.
3. Do not book site 5 this site is very low lying, cannot put pegs into ground - rock hard, floods with rain.

We camped for 5 nights with friends and had an awesome time. The staff at reception are friendly and helpful and they sell all the basics at the kiosk including ice and fishing tackle plus they accept eftpos. The bathrooms are basic but kept clean. The communal kitchen has gas cooking, fridge, washing up and Zip hot water plus benches to sit and eat. If you want there are random fire places to camp around and cook from. The kids are kept entertained with movies played on an outdoor flat screen every other night plus there is a basic putt-putt course with clubs available from the kiosk.

The dam is a short 2 min drive from the camp site and boat launching is easy with plenty parking for trailers. Lake Monduran is huge and finding a spot to ski is easy. Plus there are plenty wooded areas to fish for barra. We spend hours fishing and caught nothing however other fishermen caught 2 to 3 a day so they are there but difficult to catch unless you know what you are doing. The few fishermen we spoke to were more than willing to offer advice and point us to the right places (not that it helped!). Fishing for cat fish is easy from the boat ramp and will keep kids amused if they're in to it.

Gin Gin is a 15 min drive away and has everything you need including a hardware store and an IGA supermarket. There is also a tackle shop if needed.

We had a super time there and would definitely recommend it although to get the most out of it you will need a boat to ski and fish.

We have driven pass this place a number of times and while staying in the area we thought we would call in for a look see.. Very pretty camping area but NOT with Lake views, not what we were expecting at all. The amenities are very basic and very old fashioned. Do not think we would stay here as we like water views. We had a look at the one and only Houseboat and certainly NOT worth $400 per night. the curtains in the bedrooms very dirty and old and the showers and loo need replacing, would NOT hire. Very old and basic with not enough room for 8 people.

Response from Kelly H, Owner at Lake Monduran Holiday Park
Responded 6 Jan 2018
Hi Patricia, We have two sets of amenity blocks, one set is an older style and the other is quite modern, both are well equipped and always kept very CLEAN & TIDY. We have two camp kitchens available to our clients which have BBQ's, Toasters, Hot Water Erns, Hot Plates, Fridges, Tables and Big Screen TV's and are regarded to be some of the best in the industry. Yes our camp ground is situated below the dam wall set amongst a pretty country outlook and our grounds are always in a tidy condition. If you are looking for a view of the water, our 4 Holiday Cabins are situated on the top of the hill over looking this beautiful lake with a boat ramp situated about 150m away for easy access. Its quite possible that you may have had a look at the houseboat after it being hired out, which means it probably hadn't been cleaned prior to you having a look. Having not stayed with us previously, we hope the lack of water views from our campsites is not enough to keep you from visiting and experiencing all the great activities Lake Monduran has to offer. Kind Regards Rob & Kelly

We recently delighted in 4 nights at LMHP at a powered site next to the very-well-equipped camp kitchen. The free camping area was quite busy on Fri and Sat nights, but they all packed up on Sunday morning and left us almost alone. The grounds are very well maintained; the fire pits dotted around are a bonus, and the shop appears to be stocked with just about everything you may need, or have forgotten to pack...including fresh milk, eggs and bread. I did have a bit of trouble connecting to the wi fi but Kelly enlightened me and I was able to check emails after that....not that that is usually a priority for us. The amenities are not crazily modern but are spotless with good water pressure and nice hot showers. My only complaint - being "vertically challenged" - is the spiffy and spotless camp kitchen was obviously built by a very tall person: the stainless steel benches are so deep I couldn't reach the power points on the back wall. But that's what husbands are for :-) Whilst the barramundi weren't obliging, everyone else was and for the first time in a long time, I heard my husband say "we will definitely be back". Well done Kelly and Rob.

Do the cabins have BBQs
Answer from Natalia W

Hi Sue and Warren, We do have some sites available for those dates, though our cabins are currently all booked. I would suggest heading to the online bookings page of our website where you can enter the dates you want to stay and number of guests and you will be able to get a quote and secure your spot. We do have camp kitchens as well as picnic areas and electric BBQs. There are a number of amenity blocks with showers and toilets throughout the park. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! Hi Pierre, We would advise booking and requesting a site close to the ramp, as we will always try to accommodate specific site requests where we can. Our park map (available on our website) will give you an idea of the proximity of the sites to the lake. We are looking forward to seeing you in a few days. Lizzie Guest Relations Officer
