Had a fantastic dinner a few days ago at Villa Deevena! A beautiful spot with amazing food! It's a must do if you're in the area. Makes a great end to the day after surf at Avellanas or Negra! I can't wait to go back and even though we don't live too far away, I really want to try to... More

I am writing this as a restaurant review. We did not stay there. We've eaten at a lot of really good restaurants in the Boston area, visiting New York, many other US cities, France, Italy, Spain, etc. This place was right up there with the best. Chef and Mrs. Chef are French; spent about 10 years in Venice Beach, CA,... More

My family and I took a Padi 3 Day Open Water Course at Scuba Dive Costa Rica, formerly Brindisi in Playa Flamingo. We were recommended by Capt. Mike to dine here. He said,"it's the best restaurant in Costa Rica, and it's not expensive!" Our hotel was at JW Marriot, Guanacaste. It's about 35 mins south in Playa Negra. The short... More

We enjoyed dinner here so much. The chef & his son are amazing. The food was delicious, drinks very good & staff so personable. We will be back soon- hint: everything here is delicious and the back story on this family is impressive. We were fortunate enough to to be shown the photo book showing the chef and the many... During our recent vacation in Guanacaste we drove down to Playa Negra for dinner on a personal recommendation from one of the staff at the JE Marriott. We made a reservation but arrived late because the road to Playa Negra is unpaved and totally unexpected. Nothing but dark and dirt. Be sure to take the "main road " because the... More

This is one of the coolest restaurants I have ever been to. They have a very chill vibe, but the food is pure class. The restaurant is an open concept with a fully open kitchen and beautiful decor. You sit eating your dinner looking over a beautifully groomed courtyard making the dining experience something very special. Over the course of... More

Best restaurant in Guanacaste. They treated our party of 10 like family. The braised short ribs are to die for. The waygu rib-eye was the best steak I have ever eaten. Neither were as good as the lobster ravioli. Probably the best meal I have ever eaten. Service was phenomenal.

We had a nice romantic weekend getaway to this lovely boutique hotel. It was peaceful and chill. Private, clean, minimalistic bungalows, nice bedding, sexy outdoor showers. You can sleep with all the windows open and listen to the wind or there is air conditioning available. All rooms open to lush gardens and a dreamy pool, lit up purple at night.... More

If you are ever in the area, you must eat here. Reservations are recommended. Who would have thought a restaurant of this caliber could be found in Playa Negra Costa Rica. The calamari and Rack of Lamb were outstanding. Great staff and service.
