I was advised, by some friends that have been to this restaurant before, to try their lunch menu. Absolutely incredible! The food was so fresh, flavourful and well seasoned. They make a great Piña Colada as well!

I had a Negra breakfast and it was great. Sweet fruits, good fluffy pancakes and natural OJ. I've only tried breakfast here. But, overall, the service is excellent, there is this lovely waitress that is really helpful.

This place just feels like home! The manager speaks excellent English and makes you feel very welcome. He is an awesome surfer and can give you the inside scoop on all the best surf spots and conditions for each. The food is great as the menu has American favorites as well as typical Costa Rican dishes such as casadas, patacones,...

We stayed at the Café Playa Negra Hotel for seven nights and had a great time. The people who work there are wonderful, especially Ezio, the hotel manager. He's always there when you have a question or need advice. He helped us rent a surfboard and told us how to get the best transfer to our next destination. He's truly...

I go to Cafe Playa Negra once or twice every year to eat well, sleep like a baby and not feel like I'm in a "all inclusive" American safe zone, where everything is bland, boring, VERY expensive and prepared without any imagination. Picture the Marriott resort not too far. At Cafe Playa Negra the staff is like family, they treat...

We stayed in Playa Negra for a week and ate most of our meals at our beach house but we enjoyed our dinner here so much we went back on our last night. Super nice service and great food. My son is a very picky eater but raved about his meals. Make sure to save room for dessert!!

wow, loved this place. we arrived early for lunch but was offered a cold beer and to hang by the pool until the restaurant opened, I think they knew we walked and we were pouring sweat, so it was a much needed relief - how awesome is that! Absolutely beautiful wood work, from the doors to the picnic bench -...
