I am a Kiwi ex pat who was on a visit from the UK, and friends took me on a nostalgic tour of the far north. We only spent one night at the Whangaroa Lodge, sadly, wish it had been more. We had unfortunately booked the wrong dates online, but Judy managed to find us a room, despite a national...

We loved every aspect of this Motel. From the warm welcome from Craig & Judy to the outstanding views. It is spotlessly clean with all the amenities you need. It's a perfect base to explore the harbour and the surroundings region, all of which a picture post card perfect. The Whangaroa Sport Fishing Club is in easy walking distance and...

I was back staying at the Whangaroa Lodge Motel again after being here about 6 months ago. The motel has changed a bit, with Craig and Judy, owners and operators, having added more decking around the common usage area. The large TV is still showing lots of sports and other good television and the gas heater works a charm, and...

Tired of the masses in the Bay of Islands? If you're looking for a scenic place but more quietness, consider Whangaroa Harbour instead. Especially with a great little motel like this. Small place with just a few rooms overlooking the harbour. Spotless modern rooms that allow self-catering but the fishing club and the hotel just near by should usually also...

We found this lovely Lodge Motel via Trip Advisor. The views over Whangaroa harbour are really beautiful especially if you happen to see a lovely sunset. The Fishing club pub with excellent sea food is nearby and another pub. The proprietors are very helpful and knowledgeable. We can only recommend it.

The place was awesomely clean, and the view from the upstairs rooms was delightful. The owners were really helpful and we really enjoyed watching the DVD about the history of the location. Highly recommended.

Having been visiting Whangaroa for over 40 years, this was one of the first times I have stayed at a motel. I was thrilled with the friendly advice offered by Judy on the phone, and booked immediately. The 2 units our group booked were lovely - modern decore, very clean and well appointed. The view of Whangaroa harbour, and way...
