We were a group of 10 walkers who lunched here on a Friday. We were made very welcome when we booked a table even though the final numbers were not known till the night before. The pub is very pleasant inside with a very friendly ambience. Those serving us were unfailingly kind and polite, the food was excellent and there...

Went here for a family Sunday lunch, it was packed but the staff were still very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, i had the lamb and my partner had the beef and both agreed it was lovely! We will be going again for sure! .. i would recommend booking in advance though as its not massive and they...

We have stayed here twice this year and plan to again before Xmas. Nothing is too much trouble. Made very welcome. Warm, comfortable rooms. The English breakfast is huge and well cooked. The Rising Sun is easy to find and is a lovely, friendly village pub.

We were delighted with this accommodation. Everything was perfect - the rooms, the food, the staff, the pub atmosphere..........all great. The landlady made us feel so welcome. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this establishment.

Stayed at the Rising Sun whilst walking the South Downs Way. On arrival had a short wait whilst a member of staff sorted out the room. This was very basic and looked very tired. The room was small and narrow, but did contain a sink. The wall mounted TV was placed so that the only way to view it was...

Great ale. Good service. Clean, tidy, bed and breakfast availability. Reasonable prices. Located very close to the south downs walks. Quite country village location. They gave a great beer festival each August Bank holiday at least 30 ales and ciders. Worth a visit.

Stopped in for an evening meal on the way back to Brighton. An absolute gem of a hostelry. Everything you want from a village pub. All staff were very welcoming and the food though basic, is proper pub food of top quality. The Rising Sun was lively with drinkers and diners during our visit and all seemed to thoroughly enjoy...

It has all been said before, but Sue and Bazza, know all about hospitality. Our overnight stay was just great and they could not have been more helpful. Our rooms were a little tired, but very spacious and clean. Even though there was a wedding there the night before Sue, managed with good humour to provide the "full English" breakfast...

We were cycling the South Downs Way from West to east over two days and Upper Beeding was right on our desired 100 km travel distance for Day 1. We chose the Rising Sun as it fitted the bill for both accommodation and food and beer! Right from the start with the booking process Sue and Barry were very helpful...

Superb and friendly staff/owners. Stopped here while cycling the SDW. Bellies full of traditional pub food, great beer, and clean rooms to put your head down for the night. With the rooms above the pub you might here music from below, but if you've been pedalling all day you'll soon be dreaming of more hills. And the breakfast was superb...
