My first and last visit to Pine Tree was for lunch in May 2013 and I enjoyed a wonderful fare out on the lawn. I had returned to Zim after 50 years, having grown up on visits to Nyanga with my parents, and was excited to find wonderful places like Pine Tree. So I am very sad to hear the...

The Inn was taken out of mothballs for a visit by thirteen of us - some of whom were celebrating our 75th birthdays. We are all ex Zimbabweans. The position of the Inn is spectacular - yes it is a bit run down, but the cuisine, friendly staff and manager Guy were superb - Guy kept us entertained most evenings....

Thank you for your valued review and appreciate your comments made in respect to the decline in tourism particularly in the Eastern Highlands . Sadly , hotels in the area will be closing as a result . We remain positive and optimistic that there will be change for the better soon to save and secure the futures for our staff...

We now live in New Zealand but have regular updates on Pine Tree from our family in Zimbabwe because this little Inn holds a very special place in our family's affections. How distressed we were to learn that it had closed due to Zimbabwe's economic situation. Then on Easter Sunday we got the news it had re-opened. We rejoiced in...

You do not visit the Pine Tree Inn for five star accommodation but the beautiful grounds and wonderful staff more than make up for the basic accommodation. We stayed two nights and a series of power cuts meant that we ate by candlelight for most meals. The food was excellent cooked on a wood stove, wine was plentiful and cheap...

Stached within a walking distance from the Rusape - Nyanga highway is this vintage classic. Feel the real African jungle mood within the mountainous forest. Excellent service all round from cozy bar to magnificent dining place.

To enter Pine Tree Inn is to pass through a mystic barrier and emerge in another reality. Almost completely off the grid in modern terms and tasting of decades long past, it envelops you in old Africa charm, now very faded and worn and perhaps archaic but touching spots in the heart we are forgetting to unearth in our modern...

We stayed at Pine Tree Inn for two nights. The hotel is a little bit older but it is still OK. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The food was very nice and the owner gave us some good information to discover the Eastern Highlands. The Nyangombé falls were very nice and not so far away.

While an infrastructure from a bygone era the hospitality, personal service and tranquility provides a perfect balance; great views from the site plus some interesting sites to visit close by, particularly Worlds View and Trout beck. Very good quality food as well that is very much appreciated by the local community for special occasions such as birthdays. Definitely worth a...
