We stopped here for a drink and lunch after a walk along the Forth and Clyde Canal. The setting is beautiful and the restaurant is well appointed with tables outside overlooking the canal. Great selection of drinks and the menu looked good too. After ordering drinks at the bar we tried to order food but as we decided to go... More

Visited here over the weekend and stayed 2 nights. Was there for a friend's wedding. The service, food, room and staff were first class! One of the young waitresses in particular called Chloe was very attentive. She was great with everyone and made sure the event went smoothly! She advised us it was her first wedding party and we couldn't... More

Rooms wonderful with comfortable beds. Menu and evening food exceptional with the best service. Breakfast is unbeatable. The welcome is the same each time you visit - not to be missed. The setting is peaceful and you can eat & drink on the decked terrace overlooking Auchenstarry marina basin which is lovely. Highly recommended.

Lovely setting on a lovely day. The staff very good, told us about boats on the canal. Situated at the very edge of a Marina containing many Canal Barges there seems always to be something interesting happening. The restaurant is fairly large, well lit and comfortable to be in. The staff were exceptionally well trained and helpful throughout. The menu, not exactly exciting but probably fully appropriate for the venue. Typical pub food and everything we ate... More

Down to see friends nearby we thought we would give the Boathouse a try. We were more than delighted with our room (Caledonia) which was clean, roomy and had everything you need from tea facilities, iron, board, toiletries etc. The beds were comfortable the decor in good nick but the best bit of all was the view. We were overlooking... More

The extensive menu offers lots of homely foods, which are fresh, in generous portions, and attractively presented. The service is cheerful and helpful, and a wide selection of wines, beers, and soft drinks is on offer. The outdoor decking area, overlooking the marina, provides a pleasant pre or post-dinner drinks option on a sunny evening.

Would love to say that the food was good but it took so long to get our order taken and even longer to arrive that we'd left before we could find out. Can't say if it would have been worth the wait. Probably not.
