Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

From our initial booking with Sue, through our arrival and meeting both Sue and Colin we found them extremely helpful. The toilets and bathrooms were spotless, as was the drying room (and my boots were toasty warm). And we even got to see platypus

Lloyd is an amazing, generous and charming host whom went out of his way to make our stay memorable and like no other!
Beautiful swimming area in front of the cabins and access to inflatable sun lounges to float around and relax on, beautiful grounds with a strawberry patch that my little girl absolutely loved and some gorgeous roses in bloom in the garden. There’s a short platypus walk out the front of the cabins and viewing in the morning and afternoon if you are lucky!
There’s a winery close by that has a great outlook and some piglets to keep the kids amused, beer and great food on the weekend.
To top it all off there is a pub across the road from the accommodation that is like stepping back in time with wonderful staff and well priced, substantial tasty meals and children’s menu.
We stayed for two nights but I could have stayed a week to further explore what Dalgety and surrounds have to offer.
A mini break like no other! Get away from the city or coast and try a place that you won’t forget in a hurry!
Lloyd is a legend.

An unfortunate accident saw land in Dalgety for seven days. I was welcomed at the Snowy River Holiday Park as if I was a previous visitor. This warm welcome was further extended by the many locals whom go out of their way to ensure that you’re ok. I felt more welcomed in four days then I have in four years at my residential address. Country towns are where it is at for genuine people and authentic hospitality. I love Dalgety and would seriously consider moving here one day. The facility’s at the park are first rate - but you must bring your own food. Beer and vivid conversation are to be had at the Buckleys Tavern across the road. Look out for the lovely Linda and make sure you duck in case some space junk lands your way. Home to the playypus - thank you to the people of the Monaro.

Great little park. Lloyd very friendly and helpful. Amenities a little dated but very clean. Lloyd kindly supplies pegs, clothes detergent and sunscreen - the little things that make a stay enjoyable. Great historic town and worth the walk around. Unfortunately didn’t see any platypus but the river was flowing strong. Pub across the road with great meals. Would stay again.

We were warmly greeted by the park manager and the site we were allocated was spacious and easily accommodated our large van. The park is in a lovely, treed, rural setting near the river. However, the downside was that there is no signal with Optus and although the park has wifi, we could only tap into it near the office. Where we were located, it was inaccessible. Another negative is the fact there is no dump point. The nearest one is about 18kms away. Dalgetty is very small, but it does have a pub which opens several days a week. Tourists seeking a quiet retreat away from it all, will really enjoy this park, but for us, we found it a little too remote for touring the key sights the region has to offer.

We spent 4 nights here and we're so glad we did. It's beautiful and quiet and the owners are dedicated to helping you have a great stay. The caravan sites are in park like surrounds, just next to the river. The amenities are spotless and not long renovated. Yes you can drive to the National Park and Jindabyne, or many other locations for a day's activity or you can sit quietly and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Thank you Sue and Colin for a great stay.

I questioned the host when he told me the fee for the night. I thought it was far TOO cheap. The peaceful, very clean, well manicured facility was more than what I needed. Got in about 5pm really exhausted.Went for a walk, with a book, to the river edge, where there are palytpus. Great hotel and coffee shop. Informative and friendly hosts. At the end of my stay I definately believe I was UNDER charged. Thank you. BTW, I was recommended this place and it went beyond my anticiaption.

We spent four nights in the Snowy Rivers Caravan Park, our daughter and husband in their van and us in one of the cabins. The back of our cabin overlooked the Snowy River, in such a pretty setting. It was a very tranquil and comfortable place to come home to after a day at the snow or exploring the region. Sitting on the deck chairs watching the sun go down behind the river was magical. Lloyd was great to deal with, friendly, very knowledgeable and very helpful. The little township of Dalgety was a great place to base ourselves and within easy distance of Jindabyne, Thredbo and Perisher. We would thoroughly recommend the park.

Back for another end of year/beginning of the new year family trip and our whole family is so so happy. The river is wonderful giving the best scenery for relaxation and to clear the mind of all that stress that builds up. The cabins are ad cosy as we remember, the DVD choices always thrill the kids, and Lloyd is always so happy and welcoming. Happy to be back and already talking about the next one.
It's becoming our tradition.

My new favorite campground ! We arrived wet and bedraggled after camping the previous night in the national park in a storm. This was like paradise ! Lloyd really looked after us and the place has such a good vibe. Also achieved a life long goal of seeing a platypus. Aside from the beautiful natural setting it's the little attention to details that make this a great campground, all a campers needs have been anticipated. Definitely coming back.
