Detailed Reviews
Stayed 2 nights on a powered caravan site. There are some things worth noting before you stay here. Manager Stefan seemed affable enough. Pets are welcome, on lead etc. Pricing is good at $40 for power + water and less for concessions. There are no free camps in the area that allow dogs. The location of the park is easy to access off the Bass Highway, but forget the “Ocean View” in the name. There is none. The park is within easy access to Burnie by vehicle. The park is serviced by a quite narrow ring road, so backing in is a bit of a trick. Some sites are drive-through but they fill quickly. Most van sites are not level, so bring extra plates for the jockey wheel and one leg. The amenities are old and a little shabby, but very clean. (I heard it is a new management, so this may change.). We decided to move along to an off—grid campsite after our business in Burnie was done.

Had a really good stay on a powered site. The owner was fantastic with helping with everything we needed and suggesting things for the kids to do. The heated pool was a big hit with the kids on a cold and grey day. Only thing I could fault is that the amenities are quite old and needed some TLC, but still were OK.

Friends and I stayed one night in a cabin.
I slept on the top bunk, it was the most comfortable bed during my two week visit to Tasmania!
The cabin included a heater that did a great job at warming the cabin.
A friend cooked her dinner and was happy with the cooking facilities.
Although the pool was said to be heated, it was too cold for us.
Location was a short drive to Burnie to see the penguins at night.

This was a visit in March 2024. The area around the hotel was very tired and needed a lot of cleaning and care. The room needs an update. The staff were friendly and helpful. The price was well above what you would expect for the room. It is situated in a safe area with a nice beach opposite.

Have stayed at numerous caravan sites in tassie n thruout Western Australia but no where felt so relaxing as here ... I think the drive along the ocean towards Burnie was beautiful I immediately felt relaxed once we arrived the turn off into it came like a sneeze .. don’t kno if it’s because our heads were turned towards that ocean view n didn’t see sign to turn into caravan park but it actually is a small frontage property attached to what looks like a massive local high school / primary.
this is easily probly best kept secret I kind of don’t even want to tell people about this one lol ... just if your in tassie and you’ve had bad camping experience or just can’t find that perfect place to Unwind after a lot of driving ....this is the spot to relax ..loved it and the local restaurants has probly the best sweet potato n feta salad I’ve ever had or made 😋 yummy I’m missing it already

Check-in efficient and friendly and we were soon into our room which was clean and spacious and with all required facilities for self catering. Good bathroom area and virtually instantaneous hot water from the shower. A little noisy overhead with other guests. Great location with the ocean over the highway and easy access to a number of nearby eateries. Recommended.

I stayed in the basic cabin and it was all I needed. Great service at check in and free WiFi. The complex also has an indoor heated pool. The ocean is right across the road also, and the sunrise is brilliant. I will definitely stay there again on a regular basis.

Cabin needs a bit of maintenance. But otherwise a great place. Very friendly bloke in reception and a great help. Close to everything, a lovely view of the ocean too . We stayed here seven years ago and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. I highly recommend this lovely park.

Great place to stay for a night. The triple decker bed is only suitable for kids. A bit cramp. But the close proximity to penguins made up for it and there was no CROWD. We didn't have to drive up to the penguin watching area in town, which was great. Free parking just next to the self-contained cabin. Didn't hear the noise from the traffic. 500MB free internet provided.

We do have rooms with King beds but unfortunately they are in the upstairs Seaview rooms.
Our downstairs units have Queen beds only should you wish to book with us.
Penguin is approximately 20mins drive from Burnie.
