Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A wonderful country pub in a fantastic location. I had been driving past every day for months so decided to book a family birthday meal here - so glad I did! Fantastic welcoming service from the staff. Food was delicious, couldn't fault the Sunday lunch. Everything on the plate was delicious. Food was beautifully presented, if you go make sure you have room for 3 courses, you will not regret it! Will certainly be visiting again, very reasonable at £17.95 for a 3 course very high quality meal on a Sunday.

My wife and I stayed here overnight on the week of our wedding, wasn't planned but fancied a stop off near the haynes museum after visiting family. Cannot praise this place enough, we had dinner, a room and breakfast for 2 for less then the nearest travel lodge, and it far outweighed the quality. I'm not great at remembering names but the owners sat with us for a fair while chatting while we had a drink, and after finding out we'd just got married they even sent us a dessert to the room. Friendly staff and the food is amazing! Will definitely stay here again if we're in the area.

Our first time at the Mildmay Arms, and what a lovely time we had. The landlady was extremely pleasant, and the evening meal, was absolutely delicious. The set menu prices are very reasonable, and the Pinot grigio was one of the nicest I've had in a long time. Definitely will be back. Many thanks to you all.

Called in on a Friday on the off chance of being able to eat, restaurant was full, but the Landlord gave us a table in the Lounge Bar, he was very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. We both had the Lamb Burgers, and they were top notch. This is a great pub for food with a Landlord that actually bothers about his customers . We will definitely visit again.

Stopped at random for quick bite to eat. Friendly welcome. Doombar well kept. Menu much more interesting than expected so decided to have a full meal and were not disappointed. Fish and lamb dishes both a bit different, well presented and very enjoyable. Sticky toffee pud well above average. All in all a nice surprise.

We stayed at the Mildmay Arms for one night on the way down to Cornwall and had a lovely relaxing evening. The landlord and staff were all very friendly and the food was fantastic and excellent value. We sat on the lovely terrace in sunshine before having a wonderful evening meal in the dining room. Breakfast the following day was also fantastic and freshly cooked to order. The rooms and bathroom were large and clean and nicely decorated. Thanks for a lovely stay and we look forward to visiting again

Where do I start? A friend of mine who lives in queen camel suggested over a game of pool beginning of last week that they have heard wonderful things happen within there village pub and that they were happy that the offering was a lot more than what the previously experienced. So I took the missus along to see what all the hype was a about. Being foodies we eat out a lot, the rose and crown, white post ect. This place blows them out the water, am I'm not just saying that to blow smoke up their back sides. The food was incredible. "Chicken terrine, corn, wild watercress, beer bread" now as simple as that sounds, I was completely caught out by what arrived. A succulent terrine packed with flavours, a mini corn on the cob, This beautiful homemade sweetcorn pickle, radishes,

The excellent lunch we had here means we will definitely return. A chance discovery meant we didn't know what to expect but the menu was a delight. As we asked for advice from great options on the lunch menu, our fantastic waitress Sally not only made excellent recommendations, but listened to the extent that she offered to bring out some tailor made surprises too. An amazing fish board, wonderful home made pork pie with delicious pickle and simply beautiful cheese dish was accompanied by perfect chips and exquisitely light tempura mini courgettes with flowers. Locally sourced, wonderfully cooked and charmingly served food- if you feel this is perhaps too glowing a review to be believable do try this great place out for yourselves...enjoy.
