This was the best value for money I have experienced in Venice ever! The rooms were extraordinary, facing the Grand Canal. They were elegant with fantastic Venetian Glass chandeliers, huge beds, beautifully appointed bathrooms, and furnishings fit for the most discerning guest. The common areas were of a standard that could compere to any elegant hotels in the world. This...

Centrally located with easy access from the airport and in close proximity to the heart of Central Venice, this hotel is very nice. The staff are professional and helpful. For the price range, please remove the coffee machine and use only the barista espresso machine located in the dining area. Although we are accustomed to the best of Italian cafe...

The hotel was only 4 stops from the train station and conveniently located to all the sights in Venice. We were totally stunned by the vastness of our room and its level of elegance and luxury. It was a romantic dream to stay in such a palatial hotel and room. We kept pinching ourselves, that it was real! .... We...

The hotel is in such a great location, you can take the local water taxi from the Venezia S. Lucia train station that stops just in front of the hotel (Ca D'Oro stop). The room was quite large with a large bathroom (with shower and bathtub included). Only downside was couch had stains on it and looked like it hadn't...

We loved our stay at Pesaro Palace. This was the end of our two week trip through northern Italy, mostly staying in Airbnb's, staying economical. So this was our splurge and it was lovely! We booked a Superior room, and stayed in room 403 with four windows overlooking the Grand Canal from the fourth floor. We agree that sitting in...

The Hotel We arrived to a beautiful hotel, situated right on the Grand Canal with an impressive regal decor in red and gold. There are huge ornate (what I suspect are Murano) glass chandeliers mixing contemporary with historical opulence. It is located right next to a waterbus stop (Ca D'Or) with the number 1 running every 10 - 15 minutes....

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
