Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a true experience of remote Bolivian highlands. We showed up in our car and were warmly welcomed. The park ranger gave us lots of information (Spanish only) and helped us check into the lodge. Cozy, rooms, with heat and hot water & 3 meals a day included. Food was plentiful though a bit limited for vegetarians. Lovely, high elevation, windswept antiplano and well off the beaten path.

What a fantastic place to stay in this remote corner of Bolivia! It is run by local community of very kind and helpful families. Whether you want to learn about llamas, hike, hop in the hot springs or just relax by the fire, this place has it all. It may look rustic but you are coming here for experience, unforgettable scenery. Javier is the main guide here and will make your stay memorable

We drove to Sajama National Park from La Paz in April 2022 and our 2 days at Tomarapi were part of the most rewarding experiences of our visit to Bolivia. The area felt pretty remote as we were alone at Tomarapi but the staff were very welcoming and went at length to give us advice about hikes and places to visit in the park. In additional to a good breakfast and dinner, they also prepared lunch packs. The facilities of the lodge are good (in particularly considering the remoteness of the location) but you should go there for the overall experience of this charming place, the old church next to the lodge, the Alpacas, the scenery, ... they make this an unforgettable experience. We stayed 2 nights (before driving from Sajama to Sabaya) and spent the day visiting the hot springs, the laguna, the geysers, hiking a few hours in the worlds highest forest, watching the wildlife and taking in the wonderful scenery. I made my reservations by email and communicated (in Spanish) by whatsapp with Javier Huarachi who is from the Tomarapi Community (ecotomarapi@yahoo.es or +59172472785 ).

Great stay at Tomarapi Ecolodge during our visit to Sajama Nationalpark! Very friendly staff, clean rooms, nice food and beautiful scenery! We were offered a guide from the lodge for a hike in the park as well!

When traveling through Sajama National Park, we looked at accommodation options along the route. This was the most pleasant and high-quality option. In the most populated area of Sakhama, the “hotels” were much worse and simpler! This hotel has an interesting authentic design, excellent friendly and hospitable hosts, and a stay for $70 includes breakfast and dinner. The room was cool (September), but we turned on the gas heater + covered ourselves with 3 warm woolen blankets. It was comfortable to sleep! There is hot water in the shower and sink, which was a huge advantage in cold weather. Breakfast and dinner are delicious, quite varied and authentic (local Bolivian cuisine). Taken together, this is one of the best lodges I have stayed at in national parks around the world.
