We started out on the Pacific side of Baja in the El Vizcaino Reserve. Our group was just five, and we had the most wonderful experience getting literally nose-to-nose with grey whales. Moms and babies came right up to our boat and let us pet them. They seemed to particularly enjoy getting their chins rubbed. Everything was by boat and...

Just completed my 7th trip to Las Animas Wilderness Lodge with Baja AirVentures, August 29- Sept. 3, 2016. We got to snorkel with a bunch of whale sharks. YouTube: OAHUSQUID to see the video. Gray, our pilot/guide is terrific, as is Liz the cook, and Fidel, our boat captain. It is a bit pricey, but well worth it. I've made...

If you want a true Baja experience, look no further. A quiet beach all to yourself, amazing sunrises and sunsets, aquatic experiences you'll remember the rest of your life - it's all there. I brought my teenage daughter there to swim with whale sharks, and the experience certainly exceeded our expectations. I'd love to bring my whole family there in...

After 2 amazing small plane flights, each lasting a little over an hour, we arrived in Bahia de los Angeles. From there it was a scenic boat ride to camp. Our entire group was amazed at the remoteness of this amazing camp and the terrific food we ate. I noted one other person commented on limited snacks... no one in...

I have been on two trips to Las Animas with Baja AirVentures and I am currently planning my third trip (Best of Baja Whale Watch tour). with friends and family in tow. No place I know of offers the paradoxical and magical combination of virtually untouched wilderness with upscale camping accommodations ("glamping" from the description is right on--yes, you stay...

Many many thanks Jodeane for being our guest and your continued advocacy. As I respond to this I am sitting at Las ANIMAS TO THE SOUND OF SURF and a geat cooling breeze. Guests this AM snorkeled close to 3 large whale sharks and 7 yesterday.... Kevin and I also experimented with 25 second exposures of the Milky way that...

My wife brought me on this trip because she had been before and said it was the best trip, unlike any other. From the moment we boarded the plane, I knew she was right. The staff was friendly and I always felt safe and attended to: with questions etc.. When we got there I enjoyed the down to earth adventure...

The flight down itself was quite scenic and amazing fun. As a pilot, I'd been away from flying for 30 years, and this inspired me to get back into it. Immigration in Mexico went very smoothly. We went snorkeling with whale sharks on 3 of our days there, and it was a thrill--they are such placid giants. Each day we...

Las Animos is my idea of paradise. The staff, accommodations, solitude, lying in a hammock sipping Gray's margaritas after snorkeling, the sea lions, birds, white sandy beach, crystal blue water, great fresh food - what's not to like. And the whale encounters at Guerrero Negro: the moms and babies coming right up to us and allowing us to pet and...

From the time we left Brown field to the time we arrived at Las Animas, it was apparent that life was about to improve greatly. The staff was very helpful and polite. The boat ride to our private paradise was enjoyable and educational. I was enamored by the first glimpse of camp. Incredibly private, water blue and clear, sandy crescent...

I had the priveledge of accompanying my good friends to this unique and remote Baja destination. The textured and colorful vistas on the smooth flight south, definitely gave promise to the sparkling days ahead. We had a terrific week! The staff was friendly and accommodating and served up a tasty and plentiful menu from both sea and land......for example: ceviche,...

Thank you Rhus T for your visit and kind words. Friends, family, even family reunions, weddings and honeymoons are common at Las Ecolodge. Having such small group and all of Baja's magic all to yourself is very special these days. As you experienced, nobody leaves Las Animas hungry or thirsty. Our hand-made agave margaritas are fun and memorable indeed :-)...
