We came to Maydena as a base for exploring some of the hiking tracks in the area and although we weren't able to stay at Giants Table as the accommodation was fully booked we dined here on both nights. Had absolutely fantastic meals on both nights. Tasty hearty menu choices and large servings too. Treated ourselves to dessert on the last night after hiking the Tarn Shelf circuit and have to say " just do it", so worth it. Plenty of Tasmanian drinks to choose from at the bar. The owners are very friendly and service was great. Thank you Giants Table we will be back .

We were personally greeted by Pete as we pulled up. The cabins are located in a peaceful setting and are very well maintained and spacious. Our cabin was very clean and comfortable although there were a lot of dead flies around the inside. I think it had not been occupied for a little while. The restaurant was closed during our stay which was a shame and rather inconvenient as it was a 45 minute drive to the nearest restaurant that was open.

Thanks for staying with us Darwin. We do apologise about the flies, unfortunately as soon as it starts heating up a bit, they invade, there is very little we can do about it.

Pete and Jenny’s cabins are fantastic. Super close to Mount Field NP and very comfortable. The cabins are warm and cosy after a day exploring and the restaurant service is spot on. Our meals were really tasty and there is a great selection to chose from. We got some good suggestions of places to visit and felt really welcomed by Pete and Jenny. You won’t be disappointed if you book!

The cottage facilities were spacious, well set out and comfortable. The owner was able to provide a recommendation for a visit to the local caves - which was well worth it walking through a rainforest. Only disappointment was the restaurant wasn't open due to multiple accommodation cancellations due to the covid lockdown in Hobart.

Wow, what a peaceful place to stay. Stayed in cottage number 4 overlooking the lake and grounds. Even had alpacas just outside the back door to welcome us. Cottage was spacious and very clean and lots of kitchen crockery and cooking utensils provided. Also toiletries provided for the bathroom. Jenny and Pete were great hosts and they know how to look after their guests. Great little onsite restaurant and bar where we had dinner both nights. Perfect base to stay to visit Mount Field National Park and also Lake Pedder and Strathgordon. Highly recommended. Book direct with them.
