My husband and I recently held our wedding reception in An Chuirt Hotel, and I want to empasize just how incredible experience we had in this fabulous establishment! Half our guests were travelling from Dublin, and many had not visited Donegal before, so we really wanted to showcase how beautiful the county is and how much it has to offer. Dozens of guests sang the praises of the hotel, it's food, it's location, it's comfortable rooms and it's luxurious interior-there will certainly be return visitors to the hotel! We are quite a relaxed couple and the hotel staff were an absolute joy to deal with in every interaction leading up to and including the wedding weekend. Ricardo, the hotel manager, is so warm, flexible and chilled, making us feel at ease and supporting us to customise changes to our wedding package to meet our personal tastes. Breege on the front desk is not only a wonderfully welcoming and efficient lady, but also demonstrated incredible creativity when designing our seating plans and decor! Lewis, the wedding coordinator and our MC on the night, is so reassuring and goes above and beyond what's expected-he even went to far as to trek through marshy bogland to get us some local wildflower clippings for our centre pieces! Our wedding package was incredibly comprehensive and fabulous value, and the hotel staff by far exceeded our expectations on the day. All guests exclaimed at the high quality of the hotel, food and drinks available and surmised that "it must have cost a fortune"! I don't think I have ever experienced a service where I have so greatly received more than I ever expected to-thank you all! The night was highlighted by the availability of holding our band and DJ set in The Railway Bar, a separate music/event venue on the hotel grounds. We were really able to invigorate the guests, rock out to great tunes, and the band were thrilled to perform in such a fabulous venue! Fabulous hotel, fabulous staff, fabulous location-if you are visiting Donegal in future and want to get in to the centre of it's raw beauty, most definitely stay at An Chuirt!

I recently stayed at the court hotel with my partner and our baby girl. The hotel was clean and spacious with very friendly staff. I couldn't thank these people enough as they helped us out with sterilising bottles and the likes. I also left behind some wrist straps in the gym and with a phone call the hotel posted them out to me. I was delighted i got them back. Great hotel in a beautiful location with a good kind and friendly bunch of staff

Because of some recent Trip Advisor reviews I seriously considered cancelling my three-night booking at this hotel. In the end I ignored those reviews, and am so glad that I did because the comments about cleanliness etc just didn't match our experience. First impressions were excellent, starting with the wonderful setting in the Glenveagh hills and the smart appearance . The reception areas were likewise beautiful, very well maintained and relaxing, and the staff at the desk friendly and helpful. Our room, with its glorious view of the lough and Mount Errigal, was of a good size, and spotless in every regard - as was the en suite. There was adequate storage space, a TV, plus iron & ironing board and a hairdryer; and the bed was huge – 6ft wide, and the mattress and pillows were so comfortable. I wish I could have opened the window, but sash windows in the hotel are, we were told, being replaced/modified. The ensuite had a bath with a fixed-head shower that was easily controllable and provided an invigoratingly forceful flow. There's a shower curtain (very clean, no mould) rather than a screen, a non-slip finish to the bottom of the bath, and a grab-rail if you need help with stability, Although the room overlooks one of the most scenic roads in the Glenveagh, there was not much traffic and no noise spoiled our sleep. We had breakfast in the function room, and there was a lot of choice at the buffet: full Irish/English, continental (French and German/Austrian), fruit, cereals, yoghourt, various breads and speciality teas. What I had, tasted good, and the staff were on hand to replenish the buffet and to bring extra marmalade to our table. I found time for a swim in the pool – staff friendly and facilities very clean. It was my first visit to the hotel, and the pool was quiet. I can sympathise with those who have complained about the pool having been divided into two, with half transferred to the Spa for which even guests have to pay a supplement, but I can only judge the hotel as I experienced it. We booked the package of three nights B&B and one evening meal. The price was no more than we pay for our favourite B&B in Norfolk. The 'inclusive' meal, which we chose to eat on our last night, was served in the restaurant, which had a lovely relaxing atmosphere. I had the Scallops starter followed by Seafood Linguine. Both were very attractively presented, and I was very glad to find a seafood linguine that did not have a cream sauce. On our first night we had a bar meal which was fine, too. Prices for food and drink were very reasonable. The only thing I'd change would be the music in the reception/lounge area - go with the heritage and the scenery and play traditional Irish instead. And that's not important enough to knock off a star from my rating. So all in all a lovely hotel for a break or holiday spent sightseeing and birdwatching in a stunning area.
