Frontview hotel with a great potential. Only needs investment and to improve its management. Off-peak good prices, specially the junior suite, and which is a very confortable and spacious room. On top of that, rooms have enclosed terraces where you can rest, even if it´s cold, and enjoy the beautiful view of the ocean sea. I use to stay here...

It is a classic example of poor management or lack of it. It could perfectly be a 5 stars hotel but it hardly arrives to 3. Rusted air conditioners, dirty bed covers, and plenty of unrepaired furniture. Its only advantage is its good location.

I visit Punta del Este with my kids at least twice every year, this time we booked Las Dunas as it had good rates, it has a great location and claims to be a 5 star hotel. First of all, everything is old and dirty. Our suite had a disgusting carpet, old furniture, old tv, really old airconditioning, old curtains,...

Not sure who rates Hotels in Uruguay, thus hotel claims to be 5 star, more like 2 star. Iron burn on the carpet, peeling and stained wallpaper, broken toilet seat - see photo, AC kept tripping electricity. On the beach but you have to walk about 500m across the dunes to get to the water. All in all wouldnt recommend...

Perfect location but the hotel is more an appart-hotel than anything else. It is built with cheap materials, decoration is old-fashionned and already threadbare and it is not recommendable. Very disappointing.

The hotel is situated by the beach after a small town called La Barra, 20 minutes drive from the centre of Punta del Este. This was a nightmare, we were supposed to stay at hotel Conrad, but they had no rooms available so our travel agency chose this, Las Dunas instead without knowing the truth about it... There was no...

Horrible place. The five stars is a real joke. Rundown, ugly, moisty. Zero value for the money. We stayed here for one night. After that we changed hotel to lovely Mantra resort and Casino. Las Dunas is one of the worst places I ever stayed at.

A friend of mine, who never stays in hotels in Punta, recommended I stay there. Needless to say, he's not a friend anymore! Honestly, I'm writing this now because it's taken me a year to get over that hotel experience. Completely overpriced, no room service, maids woke me up in the morning yelling in Spanish, when I had my DO...
