We began our Alaskan adventure here at Homestead Guest Cabins. Upon meeting our hosts Dan and Sandy, we immediately felt as though we were in the company of old friends. Dan grew up on this homestead and built all of the beautiful and conmfortable cabins on the property. They offered many suggestions for things to do in the area such... More

My Wife and I along with a long time friend from Seattle stayed in Cabin #2 this time. It has two bedrooms and suited us just fine. It was so clean, it looked like we were the first people to stay there. Again, the workmanship on the cabin is just great. The recently added living room really added to the... More

We found this place when we added an extra night to our stay in Glacier View at the last min. and realized the place we were staying at for the first night was completely booked out - what a stroke of great luck! We stayed at a bunch of places during our two weeks in Alaska, but the homestead cabins... More

We were on a family hunting trip and were exhausted, wet and hungry. We found the Cabins about 11 pm. Sandy was a gracious hostess even at that hour. The cabin was great: clean, neat as a pin and very intriguingly built. A lot of thought, effort and skill went into their construction.

This was by far the best place that we stayed at on our 10-day vacation in Alasks. Sandy was very freindly and we had a nice conversation with her when we got there in the evenings. (Dan was out on a fishing tour with his brother so we did not get to meet him) The cabins themselves are a piece... More

Sandy greeted us as we drove up the driveway, and she could not have been nicer. Both kids said this was their favorite cabin on the trip, and they enjoyed driving up the highway to look for moose. Dan's suggestion was welcome, but we still had no luck seeing any of them. Gorgeous views from the cabin and along the... More

Sandy and Dan were super interesting to chat with. The cabin was very homey and beautiful woodwork. Kind of tricky to find so use the written directions rather than the gps. Also stop in Palmer or Wassilla to stock up on some food or you'll have to drive about 15 or 20 minutes to the nearest restaurant. Fully equipped kitchen... More

We had the best time at Sandy and Dan's homestead cabins. Both of them are proud homesteaders. Cabins are rustic but with all the modern amenities. What made our visit special is several interactions we had with Sandy and Dan and they truly care about making the guest feel at home. They showed us hidden trails, let us pick fresh... More

Sandy and her husband have created a special retreat with their Homestead Guest Cabins. Of particular to note is Sandy's attention to detail with well thought out and appointed accommodations. From incredible flower baskets hanging off the front porch to strategically placed notes (and guest book) to answer every question possible. Did I mention the cabin is immaculately clean too!... I spend hours researching lodging/activities for vacations and fortunately this pays off most of the time. In the case of the Homestead Guest Cabins, we found a gem! We were greeted by our gracious hosts immediately. They were friendly, helpful and just lovely people! We stayed in Cabin 3 and were in LOVE with the cabin. It was immaculately clean!... More
