Excellent delicious meal served quickly as we were on our way to the airport. Really good restaurant quality and popular pub but despite having large team dinner we sat in uncrowned area and no effect on our service. Thoroughly recommended.

We have just returned from a three night stay at The Carpenters Arms and what a great time we had. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, including the cleaners. We stayed in room 10, which was quiet, well appointed and adequate for our stay. The bed was very comfortable and lovely toiletries in the bathroom. There were little... More

Beautiful building inside and out, Very friendly and helpful staff. This premise has that person touch. There is fresh milk in the ice-bucket for your tea / coffees. There is a good choice of quality wines available and the beer is well kept too. There is plenty of off road parking. I sampled the Tagliatelle this contained Broccoli that had... More

We have eaten here twice now as it a great start and finish point for a walk. We park in the car park and take the footpath to Pensford then follow the River Chew into Stanton Drew where we have a look at prehistoric stones before walking back to Stanton Wick. It’s about a 10km round trip and very nice.... More

My wife and I stayed one night at the Carpenters arms. We had a King room with breakfast. We really can't fault a thing. The room was clean, well decorated and comfy, with beautiful views over the countryside. It feels really remote yet isn't too far from everything else. The staff were very friendly, and made us feel welcome. The... More

Our twin room was beautifully furnished and the beds extremely comfortable. You can collect a little bottle of fresh milk from the fridge on your way and we found some quality biscuits waiting for us to enjoy with a cup of tea or even a cafetiere coffee if you prefer. The happy staff showed us to a very agreeable table for... We returned here with a group of friends for a lunch in one of their private rooms. Ours was a set menu but we often visit for lunch and are impressed by the choice. Long bar with eating areas both sides. Friendly helpful staff and prompt service. Two large car parks .quite a few steps for those with mobility problems.

Booked last minute as a well priced place to stay whilst attending the local Music & Food festival. What a very pleasant surprise. It's easily accessible but off the beaten track and set in beautiful idyllic country surround. The establishment is a very charming, quaint English country pub with secure overnight parking, fabulous/clean/spacious ensuite rooms, delicious food and wine from... More

Had a great meal last night, excellent, friendly service. The pub is in a lovely setting and retains original features, has not been 'modernised' like many old buildings. Would thoroughly recommend the cod and steak. I was tempted into a dessert, brandy snap, chocolate mousse and ice cream- delicious.
