I stayed here for two nights at the end of walking the Pennine Way, and it was one of the best places I stayed. As so many other reviewers have said, Colin and Joyce go out of their way to make everything work. I also thought it was excellent value given it included dinner, breakfast, and taxi service for two...

Colin's a natural host, and keeps his beer very well indeed ( I'm a CAMRA member.. ). He and Joyce provide super food and real hospitality - They're a great asset to the area, and their PW pickup service was invaluable !

We stayed at forest view walkers inn at the beginning of September and were very impressed. We were made very welcome and found our room clean and comfortable. The "bar" had four delicious real ales on offer and were kept at just the right temperature! Our dinner that evening and our breakfast the following morning was equally delicious and we...

We had a very friendly welcome to Forest View. Joyce and Colin are excellent hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. The meals were very good and the accommodation was very clean and cared for. We would certainly stay there again.

Joyce and Colin are just the right people to run this excellent stop on the Pennine Way. In short they care about the people who stay. Boots, waterproofs etc are put straight in the drying room and the food is delicious. the little 'shop' is great for stocking up on snacks. I would recommend this stop to anyone walking the...

Stayed in the new bunkhouse...so clean and spacious. Excellent home cooked food, real ales and a lovely location. What makes this different to all other venues along the way is the attention given to the guests. The owners really understand a walkers needs and go out of their way for all that come through their doors. Staying here made a...

If it weren’t for Colin and Joyce providing an excellent service here at the last leg of the Pennine Way then may of us would not be able to complete it. They are really welcoming when we arrived, looked after my muddy boots (returned clean and dry the next morning) and I could sit down to a good cup of...

Superb in every way - not only do you get a really wholesome breakfast and dinner thrown in for the price you would normally pay for accommodation alone, the service and the extras was amazing - when we arrived Colin cleaned our walking boots for us and put all our gear for us into the drying room, so we could...

Hi Thanks for taking the time to write a lovely review for us it was no bother to drop your bags as I was going to Jedburgh anyway and it gave you a lighter day on your mamoth trip. It was good to meet you. Joyce & Colin

Day 15 of Pennine Way walk. Stayed 2 nights taking advantage of lifts to, and from, Trows, so as to split the last 25 miles of walking into a more reasonable 2 day package. A far more logical approach than staying 2 nights at Kirk Yetholm (why stay at KY before you have walked there??). Lifts provided by Joyce in...

Thanks for your review I am glad that you enjoyed your digital detox although internet is available to contact family and friends and check the weather it just dosen`t `do` streaming. I am glad that your dinner proved to be good hill walking fuel. Joyce
