My family had arranged lunch for my birthday, having passed the hotel a million times I had a lovely surprise. It looks like it has been having an upgrade and the food was delicious. We had Sunday lunch menu and it was very reasonably priced. The staff were really lovely too. It looks fresh and modern but hasn't lost its...

Lovely hotel in a superb location high up on Northumberland with views across rolling fields and hills. Our room was extremely nice - twin room number 234 - which was a large room with two huge double beds and views across the adjacent fields and hills. The hotel itself is very nicely decorated and modern. We used the pool, sauna...

Stayed 2 nights whilst visiting family. The public areas of the hotel have been refurbished and looks very modern. The restaurant is very welcoming and an excellent buffet breakfast provided. The room we had hadn't been updated and looked very tired. The bed was nice and comfy but the carpet was thin, heater was very old fashioned and not very...

I recently stayed at the Derwent Manor for several days with friends in a coach party. We all agreed that it was an excellent venue. Most of the hotel has been refurbished in modern style and the bedrooms and beds are very spacious. We had good views to the distant viaduct. The food is good and plentiful All the staff...

My partner and I stayed here on Friday 12th May on a dinner, bed & breakfast deal. The room was fantastic and contained perhaps the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. The 3 course meal was excellent and breakfast was superb. The staff are a real credit to the hotel and could not have been more pleasant, chatty or...

A lovely hotel. The location is superb. We were put in the Oak Cottage for our 2 night stay. This was a pleasant surprise. The cottage is well equipped. However, they need to fix the slamming heavy doors, which could be a health and safety issue. This is a simple thing to rectify. Also as we were in the cottage...

A really nice hotel with good bar and leisure facilities. Also a fab walk by the Derwent River runs by the hotel (the hotel should do more to promote this). One improvement I would add is to update the in-room visitors book. A special shout out to the staff who served at breakfast.

I visited last year with a coach party and was so impressed I brought a friend with me this time spending two nights at the Derwent Manor and visiting Beamish. The experience was a positive one: our room was extremely stylish and the meals...we were on half board....were impressive. As I remembered from last year, the girls in reception and...
