Globally good place to stay. Rooms (individual bungalow!) have good quality and a really nice view ! But bathroom was really old. That is the main explaination of my note. I would have put 4 without this point. The restaurant is very good ! And breakfast nice. No hesitation or 1 or 2 nights within a roadtrip in Vietnam.
Service and engagement from the staff was fine and the bicycle tour around the area was a really good experience. When the weather is not good as we experienced it of course impact the whole experience. Minor detail is that the bathroom in one of our rooms had a strange smell which the staff handled by giving us the possibility to change to another room.
Stayed 2 nights here and had a different experience from our previous accommodations. This small group of rooms is clustered around a rather lovely pool with a view of the valley, rice fields, farming, mountains etc. Beautiful with a bit of sun, only marred by pylons sadly. Had a couple of walks locally. and further into the mountains to get a taste of the local culture. The room and shower room were smaller than we had become used to but there was a large balcony overlooking the garden and beyond. This area has become quite touristy but this accommodation was really well situated- no other tourist accommodation nearby, so it felt more authentic. Staff were pleasant and willing, if not particularly slick! The food is rustic and fine, but no cheaper than the cities. The drinks were even pricier, and you are pretty well stuck here. We enjoyed this nice taste of the countryside but 2 days was enough probably. …
The bungalows are in a remote part of Mai Chau province. You can see the locals working in the rice fields, enjoy some lovely walks in the surrounding countryside and villages and have a swim with a stunning view. The bungalows are clean with all facilities, comfortable and very friendly staff. We were not disappointed and I would certainly recommend this.
We had stayed in the Mai Chau Ecolodge for two nights but it was full on the third night of our stay in Mai Chau so we stayed at Sol Bungalows. It was very disappointing. The bedroom and bathroom was pretty basic and lighting was far from adequate. The view was not nearly as romantic as suggested and we had a view across paddy fields to high wire electric pylons. Many of the rooms looked onto the dining area. The food was adequate but not excellent. Cockroaches In bathroom were nocturnal companions. I would not recommend this highly, but having written a negative review, unusually, the staff were friendly. Stay at the Ecolodge every time. It is worth it
