Iwamanzi is a Zulu word meaning "place of falling waters" and is situated in the North West province of South Africa, a 2 hour drive from the Johannesburg international airport. The reserve is a paradise, consisting of - 12,000 acres of unspoilt bushveld, with savanna grasslands and riverine areas, 18 natural dams fed by underground springs, with the Selons River running through it. Several ruins of old human settlements of Bushmen, Ndebele and Voortrekkers are found, including two old farm houses built in the 1850's. Iwamanzi Game Lodge, is a luxury lodge consisting of the main lodge and 5 chalets, each sleeping 2 guests. The chalets are built in a gorge, above the cascading waters of the meandering Selons River (which can be viewed from each chalet's private viewing deck.) The abundant variety of flora and fauna make it the ideal place for nature lovers, and provides the perfect blend of beauty and tranquillity in this slice of Paradise. Daily game drives, game activities and day trips to local attractions, will keep you entertained, while our in-house chef keeps you satisfied with gastronomic delights. Our friendly and accommodating staff will eagerly work with you to tailor make a holiday package that will ensure that your stay at Iwamanzi is an unforgettable experience.
