Lovely hotel and pub nicely refurbished with a cosy bar and dining area. We had pre-booked for a family meal and we received a warm welcome. We had a great evening with good food and drink and were well looked after by the friendly staff. Highly recommended – but do pre-book as it is deservedly popular.

Despite being surrounded by more 'smells and bells' than you can imagine (friendly Anglo-Catholics) this hostelry delivers plenty of down-to-earth character and charm. The ales and gin are sublime, the location central, the welcome friendly and engaging. A jewel in the crown of Little Walsingham.

Nice village pub, great staff, food and they do rooms! Gets very busy so need to book for evening meal, especially over the Easter period when the area is flooded with pilgrims to the shrines nearby. Close to the North Norfolk coast, easily within reach of Wells, Morston, Stiffkey and Blakeney.

We had a one night stay at the Black Lion as a treat for my boyfriends birthday. We had seen some great reviews and it did not disappoint. Our room was lovely and the pub is very cosy. Food was excellent and the service was outstanding, it's often an area that we feel let down by. We were made to...

Stayed here one night in the "Lourdes" village of England. Modernised pub but still with plenty of character not the usual "gastro" style which can be stark. Cosy bar downstairs to mull away the time. Bedroom very comfortable, warm and comfy bed. Shower needs a bit more power and temperature kept going hot and cold but tbh not too much...

If you happen to venture into the Little Walsingham area of Norfolk be sure to set aside at least one night for dinner at the Black Lion. You won't be disappointed. I have dined here for three nights in a row and my taste buds have been tantalised on each and every night. For my money the tempura tiger prawns...

Stayed for one night at the weekend wish it could have been longer. The staff were very friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived. The room was bright, clean and the bed was very large and comfortable. We ate at the hotel in the evening and were joined by a friend, the food and service was wonderful, I especially...

Our second visit and a lovely warm welcome on arrival - it's nice when you are remembered. A very pleasant room and we do love the "quirky" touches with the furnishings. My only comment would be that this time we only had a shower which was electric and they do tend to fluctuate in temperature but it wasn't the end...

It was by accident that we stumbled upon this great little place. We made a last minute booking and were received warmly by the super friendly staff. I will definitely be returning again and would recommend the Black Lion Hotel to anyone looking for a warm cosy homely place to stay far away from the hustle bustle. EXCELLENT FOOD TOO!!!

A 700 year old coaching inn with seven en-suite bedrooms, several with original medieval feature walls and windows. The restaurant serves modern British cuisine and is based on what local seasonal ingredients are available from the farmers and fishermen. There is all day tapas and light snacks and during the winter they serve a sit in or takeaway "soup kitchen" menu. A la carte is available lunch and dinner. The bar serves several local cask ales and ciders, the usual selection of lagers, spirits and wines and has a good top shelf of Scotch and Whiskey. ... more   less
