Stayed for 5 nights in early February and had a wonderful time. Comfortable beds, pleasant sitting area on the verandah, great location ( quiet, 5 mins walk to the beach, 10 mins walk to the National Park), fridge in room.... I would definitely stay there again. Great value and Vilma and her brother are very special hosts.

We stayed at Cabinas Sumaqtikaq for three days. This a very special place that must be appreciated for what it is, simple and small rooms with access to a kitchen set back from the beach. Its backyard is bordered by the jungle. The owner and her brother essentially made up the staff and were both super nice and helpful. If...

This is a great place to stay on the Caribbean in Costa Rica, especially if you are looking for something relaxing and quiet away from the more touristy towns (like Puerto Viejo) but still a close bus ride away for convenience (30 minutes). I stayed in one of the two downstairs rooms. It had two comfortable beds with mosquito nets,...

The cabinas have a private bathroom and 2 fans, no A/C. There is a shared kitchen that you can use.The cabinas is really clean and nice. The host, Vilma, is a charming host. If you ask, she can cook for you a wonderful breakfast for 8$. We appreciate our time there and will recommend it.

I stayed 5 nights in one of the two cabinas. Vilma was a perfect host. The cabins are simple but very clean and quiet. You can use a little kitchen to prepare your meals. To book here you must like to be a little bit independent. Manzanillo is a very little town at the end of the road (perfect for...

Lovely room with own bsthroom and warm water. I particularly liked the large porch with hammock and table and chairs. Great location as a short walk to shops and restaurants and the beach and jungle. The family are very helpful. You can order breakfast as an extra cost. The only suggestion I have is to be clear about extra costs...

This wooden Cabina has been so beautifully made, giving attention to every detail. This house encaptures the feeling of Costa Rica and allows one to really experience the local environment and culture. It was a tranquil, unique experience in the heart of nature. Vilma (the owner) was so accomodating and willing to help with any questions or advice. She goes...

This Cabina is the home of Vilma Alvarez. It is quite beautiful as the pictures show -- all fine woodwork--and is up against the jungle so you really hear the sounds of the wild and often howler monkeys come to the tree right next to the house. There is a nicely landscaped and gated yard. There is a fairly large...

Vilma, the owner, operates a small rental property of just a few units that are just right for those wanting a more personal experience with the locals compared to those exclusive hotels located in guarded compounds. Her units are fairly new, but rustic in all natural woodwork. They have shutters that open up the entire room, mosquito nets over the...
