Good location within walking distance of some restaurants, a museum, some shopping, a park. Some staff speak reasonable English. We had 3 people in a suite and one in a budget room. The suite was comfortable, large, clean, and in good condition. Quiet hotel, good wifi. Hot water dispenser in the hall was nice until it ran out. Laundry service...

European price - Kazakh standard. If you want to take a shower in the morning let the water flow for at least 30 minutes in advance till it gets hot. - Wifi works well - Breakfast is average - Rooms are clean

I'd recommend ignoring the over-gloomy reviews of this hotel. I was somewhat dreading it after reading one of the reviews in particular but it's a fine place to spend the night while on the road. We arrived late after getting the train from Almaty and crossed the border into Kyrgyzstan the next day. If you've been to a Soviet-type hotel...

It was good travel. Hotel Jambyl was comfortable and with good service. Team of staff was very friendly and kind.I was in this hotel two days. My room was not so big but comfortable in this room there are one big window , cable TV , big bad and bathroom. I recommended this hotel.

This was the best midrange hotel I found in Kazakhstan. Hotel is a renovated Soviet style multi-story building and right in the city centre. Rooms start around $ 70 and are quite comfy, only the balconies were off limits (bad state of repair), breakfast was included and really good. There are some shops nearby but you have to walk a...

I had room 317 which is definitely a single. It is small, with one twin bed. The room had Cable TV (no English speaking stations) and a small refrig. The restaurant is good and if you have dinner here, have the ice cream with fruit for dessert. Not all electrical outlets work so double check if your batteries, laptop, etc. are...

We arrived at short notice and chose a junior deluxe suite. Great staff, despite limited English. Apart from needing a column heater (-20C outside)' which was readily supplied and left in our room, the only area for improvement would be breakfast. Cornflakes, cold bread, cold fried potato, sausage, cheese and pickled carrot, with the option of eggs are targeted at...

I arrived at the hotel around 10:30pm and check in was quick and efficient. Some of the staff speaks a little English. I paid 9000 tenge/$60 for a basic/single room. It was clean and simple with basic amenities including a refrigerator (which was not plugged in). You can call down to the front desk to ask for an iron if...
