Choice of bars - an adults only or one which allows children, beer is well looked after and the staff are friendly and accomodating. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.
Although it's a little pricey, I do feel that this is reflected in the standard of the rooms and the service you recieve. And it's greater London!
Stayed here many times and will be back again.
Can recommend!
Tea and Coffee free in the rooms, but it was unclear how much the mini bottles of alcohol and snacks were, the room booklet said there were prices in it but there was not.
Had a bad nights sleep as I could hear someone's TV. The pillows were not comfortable. The bed was too firm. Notes in the bathroom saying use the products but if you take them you will be charged, I understand but it's a bit off-putting. Toilet was very noisy when flushed or when the people in the next room flushed. Doors left open to cleaning cupboards on the path to the rooms.
Room was small but comfortable and clean. However, you do need to be aware that if you have any of the snacks in the hamper you will be charged! Staff were welcoming and the breakfast was good.
Friendly welcome and stayed in a quiet and comfy room.
Only comments I would make are the room could do with a refresh as some of the paint on the bathroom ceiling was peeling off and one of the bedside lamps didn’t work.
Nice breakfast in the morning but never got the brown sauce I asked for!
Really nice to have an uncut loaf to make toast but would suggest this is pre sliced before it leaves the kitchen as I don’t know how clean the hands were that held the loaf to cut it before me!!
The normal bar snacks were not available so we had to order starters from the main restaurant menu which proved to be expensive for what we received.
The cooked breakfast was well presented but we were disappointed that there was no fresh fruit / natural yogurt available .
Charging £144.00 BB for one night in a small dark room was expensive.
So that what thought baring in mind things had moved on.
The check into the hotel was friendly and welcoming, and our room was adequate, small and lacked some toiletries we expected, but ok ,we paid for bed and breakfast £149 around €181 so not cheap by any means, compared to home.
Anyway we had booked dinner in the restaurant, with expectations of previous times here. It was very quiet, the menu was disappointing, but we started with smoke salmon, it was nice, but not at all well presented with 2 pieces of cut loaf on the side. My main was a steak pie and my wifes chicken,
My pie seemed ok but probably not made by chef, my wife chicken was ok but the fondant potato, we can only describe as fit for the bin. Couldn't believe the chef had the front to serve a burnt reheated looked 3 day old piece of sh t .So very dissapointed to say the least.
Breakfast went no better, plenty of cooked choice, and pastries, but very little else, what's going on ? Corn flakes or chocolate rice crispy s . Sorry but we are seasoned travellers and cooks, and this for the money lads you need to up your game. Brought back happy memories, but that's it.
Before we are told if we dont like it go home and stay there, dont worry we will
