Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

The Bull's Head Hotel garners mixed reviews on its value, with some guests deeming it a tad expensive but high in quality, while others tout its comfort as a solid deal. Cleanliness is a strong suit, with numerous guests lauding the pristine rooms and inviting beds. Warm praise is directed at the hotel's service, citing the staff's exceptional attentiveness. Although the rooms are celebrated for their coziness and amenities, a few guests suggest they could benefit from light refurbishment and quieter surroundings. The atmosphere is generally appreciated, especially for its comfort and extra touches, yet the weekend music volume receives occasional criticism. Amenities satisfy most guests, but clarity on additional charges could be improved.

The room was so cosy and comfy with crisp white bed linen and soft fluffy towels and oodles of bouncy cushions. There was plenty of coffee a variety of tea bags to choose from and a pod coffee machine with various flavoured coffees. The food in the restaurant was delicious especially the fish chips and mushy peas. The staff were all super friendly.

Everything about my stay was superb from start to finish mostly due to Amy, the Manager, who looked after us so well. She dealt with all of my requests and queries very patiently and efficiently, always coming back quickly with replies. We stayed the night before my daughter’s wedding and the next night. Amy arranged for sandwiches, pastries, tea, coffee and glasses to be delivered on time to the bridal suite on the morning of the wedding and all was very tasty. The bridal suite is really lovely: very spacious, beautiful furniture and bathroom, and the 4 poster bed was very comfortable. The night before we had an excellent meal in the restaurant: plenty of choice, really tasty food and friendly, efficient staff. The change over of rooms for those who were staying the next night was very efficiently done by Carol on reception, and Jackie and her team in housekeeping were excellent in ensuring our new rooms were ready before we left for the wedding. Thank you very much to all for making this such a wonderful experience.

Really nice rooms with great facilities.

Choice of bars - an adults only or one which allows children, beer is well looked after and the staff are friendly and accomodating. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

Although it's a little pricey, I do feel that this is reflected in the standard of the rooms and the service you recieve. And it's greater London!

Stayed here many times and will be back again.

Can recommend!

Nice stay overall with a few bits that could be improve. nice bar with lovely fire. Room was freezing on arrival and only had Aircon unit to heat up which was very dry and made us cough. Was told on checkin that breakfast on a Sunday finished at 11 to get down at 10.40 and to be told it had finished at 10am but they still honoured breakfast, albeit alone in the restaurant. Recycling bottles outside room 14 at just before 9am on a Sunday morning woke us early but overall a nice stay.

Beautiful Rooms, but in some need a bit of TLC. Room was easily adjusted for heat.

Tea and Coffee free in the rooms, but it was unclear how much the mini bottles of alcohol and snacks were, the room booklet said there were prices in it but there was not.

Had a bad nights sleep as I could hear someone's TV. The pillows were not comfortable. The bed was too firm. Notes in the bathroom saying use the products but if you take them you will be charged, I understand but it's a bit off-putting. Toilet was very noisy when flushed or when the people in the next room flushed. Doors left open to cleaning cupboards on the path to the rooms.

We were staying overnight after our son's engagement party being held at the hotel.
Room was small but comfortable and clean. However, you do need to be aware that if you have any of the snacks in the hamper you will be charged! Staff were welcoming and the breakfast was good.

Stayed overnight as were meeting friends for dinner.

Friendly welcome and stayed in a quiet and comfy room.

Only comments I would make are the room could do with a refresh as some of the paint on the bathroom ceiling was peeling off and one of the bedside lamps didn’t work.

Nice breakfast in the morning but never got the brown sauce I asked for!

Really nice to have an uncut loaf to make toast but would suggest this is pre sliced before it leaves the kitchen as I don’t know how clean the hands were that held the loaf to cut it before me!!

Our one night stay here left us with mixed feelings. The bedroom was small ( comfy double) and very dark. The lighting was inadequate especially as the desk lamp did not work and a bedside lamp was broken. We reported both to reception early on in our stay but they were not replaced.
The normal bar snacks were not available so we had to order starters from the main restaurant menu which proved to be expensive for what we received.
The cooked breakfast was well presented but we were disappointed that there was no fresh fruit / natural yogurt available .
Charging £144.00 BB for one night in a small dark room was expensive.

Hey Denise, Thank you for your review and comments, sorry to see you had mixed views about your stay with us. Our rooms are all do a refresh and they are slowly getting done from next week. Unfortunately in regards to the lamps they both needed replacing and unfortunately we do not have any spare on site to replace them. Due to it being the festive period it can be extremely and we will run out of items from time to time and needed to receive our delivery to get our bar snacks back on. With regards to the fruit and yoghurts this is always on our breakfast table, We have a selection of flavoured yoghurts but unfortunately do not keep natural yoghurt. Our room rates are always based on the area and the demand, I'm sorry you thought it was too expensive but we do believe we are fairly priced because of what we offer and the service you receive from our amazing staff. We hope to see you again in the future to make it a full house. Team Bull's Head.

We were visiting from Ireland, old friends locally, thought we would stay at the Bulls head hotel,as 45years ago it was a family favourite for the family Saturday evening meal together. Remember some happy evenings here , with the whole family , having very good food.
So that what thought baring in mind things had moved on.
The check into the hotel was friendly and welcoming, and our room was adequate, small and lacked some toiletries we expected, but ok ,we paid for bed and breakfast £149 around €181 so not cheap by any means, compared to home.
Anyway we had booked dinner in the restaurant, with expectations of previous times here. It was very quiet, the menu was disappointing, but we started with smoke salmon, it was nice, but not at all well presented with 2 pieces of cut loaf on the side. My main was a steak pie and my wifes chicken,
My pie seemed ok but probably not made by chef, my wife chicken was ok but the fondant potato, we can only describe as fit for the bin. Couldn't believe the chef had the front to serve a burnt reheated looked 3 day old piece of sh t .So very dissapointed to say the least.
Breakfast went no better, plenty of cooked choice, and pastries, but very little else, what's going on ? Corn flakes or chocolate rice crispy s . Sorry but we are seasoned travellers and cooks, and this for the money lads you need to up your game. Brought back happy memories, but that's it.
Before we are told if we dont like it go home and stay there, dont worry we will
Your welcome

Firstly we would like to say thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. All feedback is welcome as we can go forward having rectified these issues. We're glad you chose to come back and stay with us after all those years, and we apologize it wasn't how you remembered it to be. With regards t o the missing toiletries, we provide a list of amenities on our website when booking so I apologize if you assumed the room would come with anything outside of this list, if there was anything you desperately needed you could've asked a member of the team and they could have either provided it or advised a local shop where you could purchase such items. As a company we pride ourselves in freshly prepared food which we cook in house daily, I can only apologize that the food you were served wasn't of the high standard that we promise it to be, that being said your comments have been passed along to our head chef and changes will be made. I hope that your most recent experience with us doesn't affect your coming back, we would love to welcome you back and change your opinion on us. All the best The Bulls head team

Exceeded our expectations. The room was very clean and cosy. Staff were helpful and friendly. We brought 2 dogs with us and they had beds set up for them plus bowl-ful of treats. Most hotels we stayed charged extra for pets but they nothing was offered to make them feel welcomed. Lots of lovely restaurants and walks nearby and plenty of parking outside. Highly recommend and would definitely return.
