We stayed in Apple Bough Cottage over the Easter weekend. From the moment we arrived we knew we had come to a special place. Pearl came straight over to welcome us with a pot of tea, cafetière of coffee and a home-made cake that was still warm. We've stayed in lots of cottages but never had such a wonderful welcome....

The perfect rural getaway. Booked for a break over the New Year and, after a long drive from London, we received a warm welcome from Pearl with a well needed pot of tea! The rural location is stunning and Pearl, Jon and family made us feel completely welcome at their farm throughout our stay. After a day exploring the beautiful...

Upper Newton Farmhouse provided an excellent base for us during our recent visit to the Hay Festival. Only a short drive away it was an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the Festival. We enjoyed being a part of a real working farm and observing everyday farm activity going on around us. The cottage is full of character...

I was lucky enough to stay in each of the cottages, Apple Bough and Chess Cottage. Each has a country cottage feel with themed decor, though this is subtle and not over the top or 'fake', as you so often find in self-catering places where someone else's idea of good taste is not equal to your own. The furnishings are...

Have stayed at Upper Newton Farmhouse several times with friends between 2005 and this past weekend, when we travelled up from London to participate in the annual Rough Ride, a mountain-biking event held in nearby Kington. The farm is beautiful (take a walk in the orchard!) and the cottages are well-appointed with all the mod cons, but best bit of...

I loved my stay at Upper Newton Farm - I stayed with my boyfriend and 2 friends and we had one of the self catering cottages - it was gorgeous. Beautifully decorated, with a comfy lounge and good sized kitchen - it was the perfect size for 4. You feel a bit like you're on the set of 'The Darling...

Many many thanks to Pearl and her family for an outstanding stay at the B&B. The cottages are very welcoming, clean and comfortable, and the garden is so beautiful. We sat outside in the evening enjoying the warm air and the flowers. Will definitely go there again!!

Thank you so much Pearl & Jon for a wonderful stay at Upper Newton Farmhouse. We stayed here over two nights for a friends wedding local to Kinnersley. We arrived to a very helpful and cheerful Pearl, who greeted us with a big pot of tea and cake in their beautiful gardens, after a long journey from Cornwall this was...

Many thanks to Pearl and Jon who made my short stay in Kinnersley so enjoyable. I had a lovely welcome to this cosy, well equipped cottage. Beautifully decorated throughout, with great bedrooms. The perfect place for a restful night or two away. The eco friendly fire seamed to know when heat was needed and turned its self on and off...

Stayed here for the weekend for a local family wedding . Pearl was very friendly and welcoming but not intrusively so. She made us tea & biscuits when we arrived which, after a long drive, was a nice touch. We stayed in Apple Bough Cottage on a self catering basis - Pearl was more than happy to provide breakfast (at an...
