It is a nice hotel and the staff are really friendly, the 4 poster bed was comfortable and the room was very clean although contemporary. I was in a room overlooking the Square and the windows are traditional single glazed multi pane sash, and this meant that you could hear all the noise outside, right down to people passing talking... Stayed here for just 1 night, we arrived at 11pm after phoning to let them know of our delayed arrival, hotel is easy to locate and has limited parking to the side which is accessed down a side lane, we stayed in one of the annex rooms to the rear of the garden and I have to say they were... More

We had gone as a family party of 6 to Wickham for a ‘Graduation Presentation’ at HMS Collingwood Fareham of our grandson and had booked in to The Old House Hotel for an overnight stay but my wife and I decided on a couple of days. However we arrived at what we thought was an Italian restaurant and were surprised... More

I stayed for only 1 night tank goodness. Check in was average and the lady appeared flustered. My room was average and far more basic than I expected for the price charged. The problems came when I tried to sleep - water pipe noise all night, I could hear the guest in the next room using the loo, every time... More

We have family in the area, and found this dog-friendly place on TripAdvisor when we came earlier in the year. We were exceptionally impressed with the room and the restaurant (and the staff - you can't have a great place without great staff), and instantly booked for this visit. Sad to see the chef and restaurant has changed, just because... More

First time we have been to the Old House since it changed in August. Had a great Italian menu with a wide variety of veggie options. The staff were excellent. We had starters which were just the right portion size and they were so tasty. Pleased we agreed to share a pizza. Way to big for one person.

Having got married here 5 years ago, and not having been back since the change in management and subsequent change to an Italian restaurant, we were curious to find out whether the change was for the better. Before changing the style of restaurant, the new management had done their homework- there has long been a lack of decent Italian food,... More

We were in Wickham for a Wedding. Upon arrival, we were warmly received and shown to our rooms. I really liked our room - traditional, with a four poster bed to the centre. We didn't have a shower though which was the only frustration on the room front. Breakfast was excellent, but the thing that made our stay 5 out... More

The place has the most amazing staff (my son left a shirt which was returned 1st class the following day!). Rooms are highly variable - we stayed in an annex at the bottom of the garden - loved it. The children were in the actual house. Breakfast great. Price outstanding :)

We were staying as part of wedding party at the nearby vineyard. Rooms were perfect for the price, and great breakfast included also at a competitive price. All staff that we met were friendly and helpful - the barman stayed far later than required on two nights to keep us company! I left an item in the hotel and it... More
