This establishment offers a service that goes beyond every hotel and guest house I have ever stayed. Erica and Kurt are fantastic hosts and certainly go beyond the true meaning of hospitality.
Your every whim and needs are taken care of from the moment you step into this tranquil house

Image you stand on a lawn in front of you kangaroos jump from one to the other side, parrots fly over your head, other birds sing and if you are lucky a rabbit runs over the street. A few steps away fish are swimming in the pond. To return to the house you walk through the little French garden. Finally you stand on the terrace and watching the sunset colorizing the breath-taking view and the lights of Perth begin to shine. This is a very special experience, if you spend some time at the Darling Range Homestay.
We spent an amazing time there. It’s a place to relax and enjoy yourself. Erika did a well job and in creating a lovely bed and breakfast.

Stayed one night with mum and aunt in Feb 2017. Clean and well-furnished homestead with great valley views, beautiful sunset and starry night. Erika and Kurt were very friendly and attentive hosts providing us superb hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed the sumptuous and delicious breakfast served in the veranda. More delights awaited us in the grounds after breakfast....the roaming kangaroos and alpacas, the many fruit trees, the succulent plants, etc, etc. How we enjoyed eating figs directly from the tree and even brought some home! Generous Erika also gave mum some of her succulent plants which we brought home to Singapore. I'm just so glad I chose Darling Range Homestay for mum and aunt. When they are happy, I'm happy. Sorry, Erika, for taking so long to write my review. Hope to return soon.

This B&B is nestled on the hill with great view. It is a close drive to Perth, but you feel being in another world, relaxing, Kangaroos on the propert, lovely house, nice bedrooms and great hosts. Hosts speak English, German and some other languages. Great place to chill out eg after a long flight or for a relaxing weekend.

We enjoyed the hospitality by Erika and Kurt. The accommodation was huge as we had all 3 bedrooms. Daily breakfast prepared by Erika was yummy and it was always a huge spread with bread, jam, cheese, juices and fruits. She would also add a little variety everyday.

You will get a fabulous view of the city, especially when you watch the sunset from the accommodation. There are lots of kangaroos that you can get close by and 3 alpacas where you can feed in the morning. It's a pity we came during early summer as the fruits are not ripe. There are mangoes, figs, quince, olives, mandarins, lemons.

While it is slightly further than the rest of the B&Bs from the main Swan Valley vineyards, it's only a slight inconvenience compensated by the warm hospitality by the hosts, Erika's fantastic breakfast, kangaroos on site and a very comfortable stay.

We will definitely be back!

Our first visit to lovely Swan Valley, and so glad we chose to stay with Erika and Kurt at Darling Range Homestay. The house itself is very modern and spacious with 3 bedrooms available to accommodate both families and couples (they only take one booking at a time so it's all yours) The views of the valley and the city beyond are stunning, and the large verandah is perfect for sunset happy hours :) The property is perched on a hill about 10 min drive from the main centre so has a wonderful feeling of isolation and yet nearby all the attractions of the Valley. Erika is an amazing host, her passion for life is infectious, very helpful without being intrusive and the European style breakfast selection was awesome. Erika and Kurt joined us for our ritual happy hours, and even invited us to dinner one night at a local pub in Midland which was a fun night. We've stayed at quite a few B&Bs and felt that Erika has taken the old cliche about "leaving as friends" to a new level. This was confirmed the morning of our departure when we heard "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" booming from the kitchen after mentioning in passing that we were going to the Green Day concert that evening! When next we visit Swan Valley we will stay here for sure.

We stayed 4 nights at Darling Range Home stay and it turned out to be the highlight of our Perth trip. The house is beautiful and clean, with themed rooms and a spacious living room. The view is spectacular as it is perched high up on the mountain, overlooking the city of Perth. We enjoyed taking a walk around the range, trying to spot kangaroos and birds or just lazing around in the house. Every morning, we will wake up to the delicious breakfast prepared by Erika and I always wonder how she makes them look so mouth watering. We end our day, tucked up in bed with the hot water bottles that Erika will fill with hot water ~~ and in the cold nights, that warms our hearts. The 2 girls just love the place so much, especially the special bread baking session with Erika. Not forgetting the furry kitty friend, Harley.. The girls missed him too. Thank you to Erika and Kurt for making our stay at Darling Range Homestay so lovely and if we are back in Perth again, we will definately be back for a visit!
