We stayed at Cloud 9 for just one night, as we were in Dinner Plain to do a snowshoe/Fondue package. We had a great night. The lodge is very comfortable - the room was quiet and nicely furnished with a very comfortable bed. Upstairs the lounge is spacious with a beautiful outlook. Ian is a very welcoming and kind host and did everything to make our stay a good one. The breakfast the next morning set us up for a fantastic day. We'd definitely stay here again if we're in the area.

A beautiful property in a magical location. Ian was a fantastic host, he has thought of everything to ensure your stay is comfortable. The accomodation is immaculate, high quality and so cosy! The breakfast is very generous and gave us the energy we needed so we could ski all day. I highly recommend this lodge. Thanks Ian, my boys and I really appreciated your hospitality.

This place is a gem. Ian has created a tasteful home and is a superb host, polite, organised and welcoming, this is our second stay. Fuelled by a huge cooked breakfast ( be sure to have the honmade mince ) we set off for a days skiing to Hotham. The end of the day was spent relaxing in the lounge in front of the fire, wine in hand, chatting and watching the snowstorm outside. Bliss. Thanks again from Lyndall and Ed. PS: See you next year!

I could not recommend Cloud 9 more highly. Catering for couples, or in our case a Dad and daughter ski trip, Ian is a fantastic and attentive host, the lodge is classy and cosy, and adjacent to the bus stop for the short trip to Hotham. Dinner Plain is great to relax after a hard day on the slopes, and Cloud 9 is like the home away from home. If you don't ski, no problems just go for Ian's breakfasts! We would certainly hope to stay at Cloud 9 again.

Our host Ian was wonderful, gracious, thoughtful and the attention to detail was impeccable. Our room while small was very well appointed, the facilities were spotless and extremely well maintained. The living area was beautiful, relaxed and inviting, you feel like your at home. Great central location, walking distance to everywhere at Dinner Plain. Our stay wasn't long enough and we spent too much time in the snow to enjoy our accommodation more ... a longer stay would mean we wouldn't have to sacrifice one for the other. Next time Ian .. xx

Cloud 9 is like no other place we have stayed at. Upon arrival we were met by Ian who showed us our room and around the lodge. To say we were blown away is an understatement. The bedrooms are so cosy, warm quiet and clean, with the bed and pillows being so very comfortable, which is just what you need after a long day skiing, The shower was always hot and great water pressure, with the bathrooms being shared.. Ian is the perfect host who provides a home cooked breakfast every morning, at the time of your liking. The lounge and kitchen area are very spacious, warm, relaxing and inviting. It is only a short walk to the bus to Hotham and to the various restaurants and pubs. There is also parking for your car. Thoroughly recommend to stay here and we will definitely be back. Thanks for a great stay Ian.

Have finally found the ideal getaway for couples or singles on mountain. Stay with host Ian at Dinner Plain and enjoy the snow in style and comfort far from the maddening crowd at Hotham Heights. We had a great weekend break and were well looked after. Place is immaculate and has a huge lounge to relax in. Catch the bus to downhill ski, or really do some exercise and cross country ski to Hotham and back. Or relax and watch the dog sledding and visit the brewery then discuss the day over a glass of wine with Ian. Can't wait to go back, thank you for a great break.

First impressions are vital and set the tone. Cloud 9 is owned and managed by Ian and it would be difficult finding a more accommodating host. He has a style that instantly engages his customers; from the get go you feel an integral part of his home. His 'business model', for lack of a better term, is to bring like-minded people together to share life experiences, particularly around snow pursuits. And it works big time. The bedrooms are roomy with exceptionally comfortable king beds that can be configured to king singles. Bathrooms are shared. Hearty breakfasts are served at a time of your liking (within reason) and are a great set up for a robust day on the slopes. The lodge has a spacious lounge area that showcases the exceptional alpine landscape. Highly recommended.
