What a breath of fresh air after being in Touristy San Juan Del Sur. After a couple of days in SJD we decided to get out to a more remote location so we picked Playa Gigante for the night. We arrived right in time for a glorious sunset. Right away we met the local people and Chef Andrew who were...

When we got engaged on the sunset cruise that Gigantebay offers. We decided that this would be the place to get married as well. Playa Gigante is truly a magical place to visit so we invited our friends and family. We had our guess stay at casa amarilla and colorline hostel. The rentals were perfect for everyone. Management and cleaning...

Booked online through booking.com - all the photos showed a private bungalow which we were led to believe we had booked. Ended up being a private room with shared bathroom. Room was ok (but make sure you get 2 mosquito nets - you'll need them! ) Restaurant is ok, some more rice and beans would have been good! Avocado is...

Hello Stuart. Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. I apologize if the Booking.com experience was a little misleading. We do have a wide variety of rooms available here from Shared Dorms, to Private Apartments. We do our best to provide mosquito nets. We are nearing the end of rainy season, meaning on the plus side, Everything...

Enjoy walks along the beach or horseback riding,. Swimming and body surfing (the waves aren't food enough for boarding directly at the hostel but they do tours to better breaks) free yoga at 730am gets the day started right! Hike up the point or go repelling or simply enjoy the sounds of the surf while enjoying a cocktail or ice...

If you're looking for beautiful beaches, a chilled vibe or a place to surf that hasn't been discovered by the masses so far, this is what you're looking for. If anything Playa Gigante is even too isolated but I think that's gonna change soon.

Since we were staying close to Gigante Bay, we asked our guide for a quick tour. Other than the impressive waves which would be a surfer's delight and beautiful landscape, there really wasn't much there. We walked from one end of the town and back in less than 20 minutes. There were a few bars/restaurants, a tiny grocery store, and...

Thanks for your feedback. Yes, the town is small, but that is part of what we love about Gigante. It is a place to relax, catch some waves, take a sunset sail, and enjoy the beautiful coastal scenery. We hope you decide to give it another chance!

These place is really incredible, I love it! Good vibes, very relaxed, in front of the beach and beautiful dorms. However, I couldn't sleep here at all, because of the loud music (on Wednesday) so I left the place to sleep somewhere else. It's quite expensive (11.50 dollars) for a dorm without the use of a kitchen if you compare...
