Good local in working fishing village with live music on Friday nights. Popular with the local fishing community. No food served but good Cornish ale, and lively atmosphere. If wanting to eat go to nearby fish and chip shop or Mackerel Sky seafood bar.

had an overnight stay here on the 21 aug first impressions were spit and sawdust as you walk through the bar to the lounge, very clean though, booked in room we were in was above the main bar, a lovely large double room, again immaculate with en-suite again nice and spacious, beds were lovely and comfy, only draw back was...

I stayed in the swordfish for a few days, rooms are clean and a nice size, staff are great as was the cooked breakfast, the only downside is the noise, it really is a lively pub great if you are on holiday and don't want to sleep before midnight, but for the price which includes the very tasty breakfast it's...

Our first port of call when visiting Newlyn, always a great welcome, fab staff and an atmosphere to match. Our visits to Newlyn are never complete without the Swordfish playing a major part in them. Can't wait to be back there in a few weeks for a 'couple' of pints.

I was surprised when I was told that the Swordfish Inn had been chosen as our b & b on our stop in Newlyn before we took our boat around landsend heading North. I have stoped in Newlyn many times in the past, but not in the last ten years and it used to be like the wild west !...

We stopped here for a night on our way to St. Just with our three children. The room was above the bar, overlooking the seafront. It was clean and warm. The pub was spit n' sawdust, but very friendly. It became more interesting later that night when all the fishermen arrived, still in their yellow oilskins, and clearly very thirsty....

Stayed at this Inn with my wife whilst walking the SWCP. We agree with all that has been said before - Choosing your breakfast the night before & marking a card/the 9.00am breakfast/Restaurant position next to the toilets etc - not idea. The position, staff, room, breakfast etc all make up for this. As we needed to leave early to...

What could be better than finding a room in a small ancient pub overlooking what would have been the old quays of Cornwall's busiest fishing port? Apart from the view being blocked by the modern fish market and the rumble of large and small refrigerated vehicles passing to and from it, this old inn was a delight! I had the...

A great plathesaurus. the rooms are great, and the breakfast fantastic. I will deffinarly stay here again, a real cornish local, with real Cornish characters. The landlord was so helpful, and the location opposite the fish harbour was a treat.

The room was lovely - very big & spacious, looking right into the harbour. Breakfast was nice - more than adequate. Wasn't keen on the 'breakfast is served at 9am' rule though & also the fact that you have to order your breakfast in advance via a menu card placed in a pigeon hole outside your door. (I for one...
