Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Reasonable price and very close to the ocean The internet was free and best we had on our trip. Older but clean and hostess pleasant. Only reason it did not get 5 starts was distance to showers. Short path to shallow inlet and a great walk around it. A real difference between high and low tide great to see

The park is in a lovely location right on the edge of Shallow Inlet. It’s just a short walk onto the beach. It’s a good location for exploring the area and given we were there in peak season the fees were reasonable.

The campground is clean and generally well kept and the staff friendly. The camp ground has a lot of on site vans and cabins and only a small grassy camping area. We were packed in a bit and so the noisy neighbors and their smokey fire were a bit of a bummer. Still we had a pleasant enough 3 days. The toilet block down the camping end is a bit basic but again it is clean enough.

We stayed here over the Labour weekend. There were 3 families, all with primary school children. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the owners were more than happy to help with anything we needed. Very close walk to the Inlet for fishing and boating activities. Will definitely be back.

This place just had its first and last chance with 4 blokes who aren’t too fussy where we stay,as long as it’s reasonably clean and comfortable. From the tiny little cabins with very basic cooking utensils, to the filthy toilet block, and the very unkept surrounds. It also offers a tractor service to launch your boat , non existent. We spoke with several of the people who stay there a bit,and they are just shattered to see their park going down the way it has. Common factor they all agreed on was the lazy owner who just sits in the main gaming area drinking cans. All in all, we cut out our 3 night stay down to 2 nights, place just didn’t have any appeal to stay.

This caravan park is very expensive for the amenities provided. The shower block is a good way from the camping area and is in need of a good clean up. There is a toilet in the camp area as well, but again needs an upgrade for the price paid. It was extraordinarily windy while we were there and our site was under a large gum tree which was also concerning. The water is tank water and quite brown, not conducive to wanting a drink. One positive is the owners are very welcoming and friendly.

We stay at caravan parks a lot. Sometimes tenting and sometimes in chalets. We have rarely had a bad experience. But Shallow Inlet Caravan Park was something different. We hired an ensuite cabin. Can't remember the price but linen and towels were $15 per bed extra. Our cabin smelled strongly of disinfectant - I think it had been unused for several months. Which possibly explained the flood of very rusty water coming out of the taps. The cold tap in the kitchen disintegrated in my hand when I touched it. Hot water took all afternoon to organise, starting with replacing a gas bottle and then some other stuff had to be done. The bed was super-uncomfortable. The cabin was very small. The grounds look neglected. The BBQ area was grubby. Only redeeming feature is the proximity to Wilson's Prom.

Contacted this park via email and made a booking to stay for 3 days. They confirmed the booking via email. All good so far. On arrival at the park around 11.45 AM we found the office closed and a note in chalk on a black board saying " Book in after 2 pm" . There was also a phone number to ring. Rang the number and got a message saying, " this Karen I'm busy right now, I will call you back" . Waited for 1/2 hr with no response went elsewhere.

We returned to this great little caravan park again this year all with families of young children. Such a good location - right on the beach for fishing and boating. Very family friendly with a tennis court, playground, camp kitchen with TV and open grass space to play footy and cricket on. The owners are lovely and friendly. Clean amenities, will definitely go back again.

We returned to this beautiful park on the weekend for an annual fishing competition with our club. Good facilities, outdoor kitchen, kids playground and tennis court. Awesome location only a short stroll down the path to the inlet.
Karen and co are always super friendly and willing to cater to our needs including early check ins and holding cabins for our club when dates are known to make sure no one misses out on accommodation. Five stars guys !!
