We went for an anniversary lunch today. The menu was surprisingly poor. We asked for one small portion of fish and chips. When they arrived, the plate seemed more chips than anything else. Far too many chips. Fish was a very small portion, would have been ok but batter was horribul and the fish was not very nice at all,...

We decided to go here for an evening meal after spending the days at Carnoustie and St. Andrews. We did not arrive until 8.00pm and did not know if we would get served. However they decided to fit us in and we ended up having a really nice meal. It was a great atmosphere as well as was very busy....

We went with 6 friends on a Saturday night and all enjoyed excellent food and service. The staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive. The menu was varied offering a good range of starters, mains and deserts all at reasonable prices. The food was well presented and tasty, coffee was served in cafetieres which was so much better than the one...

Our second visit to this hotel for a meal within three weeks, both of which we could not fault. Homely surroundings, fantastic food and excellent customer service. Will definitely return and would highly recommend!!

Club sandwich was dry and bacon was overcooked. Lunch was quite dreadful to be honest as we also had to wait over 40 mins to be served. The staff were nice, the place was brimming with old fashioned character; however the food let the hotel down. I will not be returning anytime soon.

Nice hotel, staff were very welcoming and provided a decent breakfast. The room was slightly worn looking with some stains on the wall and peeling wall paper above the window. We had a front facing room so had the noise from traffic slowing to turn around the corner outside which was more often than you'd expect for such a small...

Whilst quite clean and tidy my main issue was that the hotel is unattended at night and locked. We felt rather vulnerable. To quote the receptionist, "Please read the notice on the room door, when we lock up for the night, you are left to your own devices"! In addition I was served a pint of poor beer (I think...

The best steak sandwich EVER. absolutely brilliant... cheery and friendly bar staff. The pint of thrapple douser was delicious. Great pub/hotel. Fettercairn is really pretty village worth a visit for the distillery and the fab food at the Ramsay Arms.

Booked this hotel because it was convenient for a trip we were making in the area It's a typical Scottish country hotel being brought into the twenty first century. It was pleasant enough - the rooms were clean with nice bedlinen and flat screen TV However the bathroom had nowhere to put your toiletries and there wasn't even a towel...

We had a great meal here. Very nice starters and we all had lovely main courses. All the meals served also looked really good. So good food and a great athmosphere. Lovely staff. I will greatly Recommend. A mix between locals and visitors at the pub.
