A peaceful, relaxing campground with powered campervan and tent sites and plus basic cabins at the gateway to Banks Peninsula 45minutes from the city and airport on a sealed flat road. Close to Akaroa. Nestled in the secluded picturesque Okuti Valley with private native bush reserve to explore plus slippery slides & in-ground trampoline. The perfect place to start or finish your holiday. No hills to travel over, ideal for first day campervan drivers. The owners are happy to help you plan and suggest the best places to see on the peninsula and the South Island.

This place had been on my list for many years, and finally I visited this campground this year. It was way too good, beyond my expectations. We stayed three nights at Glade camp site across the tiny, tranquil and eel-habitat stream from the front side of the park. Behind the

We stayed over the Canterbury Anniversary weekend. The whole family loved it. We stayed next to the river where the kids made leaf boats and were kept amused by the eels that lived there. We were woken every morning to the sound of hundreds of birds singing in tune. A couple of

A great camp site in an awesome area. Even the rain could not damped the mood at this awesome camp site, with a river flowing straight though the middle of it. Ablutions could do with some work, and no it's not the eco nature of them. Everything works well and water is hot.

We biked the Rail Trail and stayed here overnight. Brilliant. Retro cabin had all we needed. Compost toilets and showers a few feet away and NO smells! Great walk up the hill and a gorgeous river. It's a relaxed place and a bit different. We loved it! Biked down the hill to eat

Thanks for taking the time to review us, and pleased you enjoyed it. The cabin is still being finished....(the builder was meant to be here today!). We are a small business so things take time unfortunately. There are a range of bike rides from the rail trial to the Okuti track, which is suited to mountain bikes only (or you can walk the 7km). A great way to keep fit and maybe we'll see you back here if you can talk the kids into biking the trial again!. Marcus

I've stayed at this campsite twice now over last summer after cycling the Little River Rail Trail from Christchurch. It's a hidden gem - a lovely, quirky and charming campsite. Lots of facilities including good hot showers, composting toilets (so good to see eco touches like

Hi, Thanks for your time in reviewing the campground. We like your description, which sums us up well. We do pride ourselves on being an eco camp, and even have a 'Green' certificate from Trip Advisor. We alway encourage gust to explore the 5h of native trees, which have plenty of exploring including the giant swing, the abandoned old film set and the new trampoline in the tree). The camp is an easy bike ride from the city, with the only up hill piece just before the campground. See you again sometime? Marcus
