We recently spent 3 nights at this wonderful property to celebrate our anniversary. Everything was perfect - great room, great facilities, wonderful ambience and superb hosts Kim and Simon who couldn’t do enough for us. Their warmth, attention to detail and culinary prowess were the icing on the cake.

The best hosts in the world, Kim & Simon will welcoming you with warm and a wealth of local knowledge. This is the most relaxing escape and only 2 hours from the city. We recommend staying 2 nights - enjoy dinner with your hosts one night and be sure to visit the local wineries (St Aidan’s) and ensure you have a long lunch at Hackersley. Check out the local brewery too. You’ll love the peace and quiet, fresh country air and the friendly people in The Ferguson Valley. We’ll be back for sure.

We stayed at Peppermint Lane Lodge in July 2018. The location is spectacular with a creek running through the property during Winter. Blue Wrens are frequent visitors to your balcony. The room was beautiful and the bed super comfy with an electric blanket a welcome treat on the freezing night we arrived. Breakfast was amazing. We also booked dinner in the main house. Kim and Simon and excellent hosts cooking a banquet of their signature baby beets with wasabi (to die for) for entree, Quail cooked to perfection with a number of delicious accompaniments and amazing dessert. Lively conversation accompanied by delicious local wines stretched well into the evening. We love staying with Simon and Kim at Peppermint Lane. The rooms are very private, away from the house, but you feel…

An incredibly peaceful and luxurious stay. The spacious rooms are well appointed with super sized comfortable beds, a lounge area and private balcony overlooking lush groves of peppermint trees. I highly recommend booking dinner, which is prepared by and shared with hosts Kim and Simon in their adjacent home. Both are talented chefs and wonderful company. The bountiful breakfast is served on the deck, complete with white linen and silverware. This is a perfect retreat, with plenty to see and do in the area. A nice change from the busy-ness of more populated tourist destinations.

After visiting on my own in 2010, in October 2017 I returned to show my husband the beautiful south-west of WA. That had to include a visit to the beautiful Ferguson Valley to experience Simon and Kim's generous hospitality. Our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Dinner, enjoyed with Simon and Kim, Simon's mum and two other guests, was magnificent. We took with us a couple of Kim's menu ideas which we've since used at home. Breakfast was likewise a treat. I cannot recommend Peppermint Lane Lodge highly enough.

Really super to have you book again and return to the beautiful Ferguson Valley. Peppermint Lane Lodge is a special place - it has its own magic. Simon and I truly enjoy having you stay with us and cooking for like minded folk like you both. It is good fun and adds that extra challenge to try different things or recipes we haven't done before. We hope you will plan another visit to the West in the future. Rest assured we will consult the restaurant guru (aka you) of the East for recommendations when we travel over that way. Loved having you to stay and that you liked our recent room renovation.
