The place where I feel most comfortable is a place where I am calm. A place that is peaceful in its own ways. It is the place to go to get away from all my troubles. It is the one place where I could sit forever, and never get tired of just staring into the deepest blue I have ever...

What a nightmare!! We got there after some ferry port issues. Met the owner he gave us the key, shouted cabin two is here, and he was gone. Never saw him again. We went down to the hole in the ground where the pool was supposed to be and it was taped off with yellow caution tape. it was so...

Our stay in Samal Island Huts was definitely one of the highlights of our Davao trip! Stayed here for 2 nights last December 2012 (please ignore the 'Date of Travel: Feb 2013', had to choose one from the options). BOOKING EXPERIENCE Kim and Pieter, the owners of the resort, were very quick to reply to our emails and text messages....

PJ and Kim make this unique place on earth a home away from home! Their kindness, generosity and genuine concern for others is not in words only, but in deeds. Thank you so much for your hospitality and assistance. I forgot my jacket (which has very personal significant value) and Kim contacted me and stated my jacket was left in...

I had a wonderful time there. It was quiet and very peaceful. Peter and Kim were so nice and made sure that all of our needs were taken care of. Adrian is a great cook. I would recommend Samal Island Huts to anyone who is looking for a quiet get away.

I had a great stay as a guest of PJ and Kim and I have nothing but good things to say about Samal Island Huts. Quite, comfortable, very well presented in a convenient location with excellent food prepared by Adrian. The cost of the stay was more than reasonable considering the venue. Pleasant staff and magnificent surrounds make for a...

Very safe location, owner PJ runs a very reasonable priced dive boat and shop, nice quiet and relaxing family atmosphere. This hotel is very small with simple cozy huts. Stayed a full week and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The hotel was wonderfully quiet and the owners make it feel like your own house. I contacted the owners ahead of my...

A bit away from the mainstream. But it's very remoteness makes it the charm. Dutch manager. So you know that everything is just right. The beach is unlike others on Samal. It's not caged in and one can walk and enjoy snorkeling and other activities are there. Plus one can sometimes even see the sea turtles. Service is good. This...

My sister and I stayed overnight at this resort. We love the food and the great customer service. We were assisted with transportation within the island and going to the pier. Kim, PJ and staff made sure we were comfortable during our stay. They replied immediately to our inquiries and requests.

“TIP: if they couldn't be able to pick you up at the Port, just ride a Tricycle and tell them to brought to to Peter Jan's place instead of Samal Island Hut, coz they all know PJ and their Island Hut is so new and other locals might not yet familiar with the name. Also, they offer trip to Hagimit Falls, Bat Cave & Kaputian Beach, and if you have lot of time to stay in Samal, they also offer island hopping & other watersports activities.”

“I booked a Suite room which is good for 2 and includes breakfast. It has a squeaky clean bathroom with sufficient supplies of basic necessity. It has a plasma TV situated in-front of the huge and comfy bed. The suite comes with a balcony and a dining table should you want to eat near your room. The resort may not be a beach front but the homey atmosphere, the nice and cozy little pool, the cute dogs, the courteous staff, the hospitality of the owners (Kim and Pj), the free access to their outdoor kitchen are their cutting edge amongst others. When you stay here, make sure you order the grilled Tuna and PJ, (the owner) will cook it for you. It's a must try. Should you want to explore the island, visit Haguimit Falls via a motorcycle (Habal -Habal)and request for Anton to tour you around. You can even use the motorcycle for free should you want to explore the town yourself. Lastly, they also cater to diving and other water sport activities which I will definitely try when I visit the place again. You may contact Kim or Pj at 0918 2348446 as the mobile number reflected on their website is no longer updated.”
