We spent one night here . The cabins are on the side of a hill in the seafront and as things were quiet out of season we had the first cabin nearest the entrance. Quite a climb for the further away ones. The cabins are fine for the price with kitchenette and a small bbq area. Breakfast was excellent and service friendly.
I have stayed there many times over the past 5 years, I went there last week for 3 days and I must say it has gotten worse and worse. The best thing there is the people that run the place, the cabins are nice but they used to be nicer. In my opinion they are not worth the price anymore and the breakfast is really poor quality. I don't think I'll be going back.
We lucked across this place! Very cool cabins right across from the beach. They were super friendly and spoke some English (very helpful given my bad Spanish). We had a two bedroom cabin that included a kitchen, full separate bath (jack and jill arrangement), picnic table in the front and BBQ pit in the back. Off street parking was nice. And an ocean view! Wish we could have stayed longer.
The view we had was spectacular, Cabaña 12 (very recommendable). Fares are high, though. Wi-fi does not exist (anyway, not really needed). One gas heater went off but still leaked propane gas, which was potentially critical. The heater was a bad quality one. We had a pleasant experience, but for the price paid, I would have expected better breakfast (restaurant was closed).
We loved this place. We had been travelling for 1.5 months when we decided to treat ourselves for a few days and headed up the coast from Valparaiso to Maitencillo in search of sun and relaxation. We got the relaxation in bucket loads but not the sun! We hadn't booked anything, instead we walked along the front popping into places to find the right one. The pickings were very slim until we found Hermansen. We had cabin number 8 which is at the very top, cut off from the others and has amazing views of the ocean. From the minute we saw this place we loved it. We had a huge terrace with a table and benches and a BBQ that we used every night. Inside it had a well equipped kitchen, large living/dining space and a beautiful bright bedroom with double aspect windows looking into the surrounding trees. The cabin is finished to a high standard and when we were there it was chilly so we made use of the fireplace and the gas heater provided, both of which worked well. The cabin was cleaned daily and included a simple breakfast in the restaurant. We didn't try the restaurant at night. There wasn't much to do in Maitencillo in March so we spent a lot of time in the cabin and had the space to do so. Our cabin also had a single bed and bunk beds in the living area so I'm not sure we would have gotten such a big place for just the two of us had it been peak season.…
