We stayed in the garden view room. We also had an awesome romantic supper in the barn and breakfast was delicious. The staff was very professional and friendly. We only stayed a night, but will definitely go back and stay longer!

We recently chose Wilderkrans Country House for a much needed weekend escape and it was everything we could have asked for. Located down a country lane, the guest house is a beautiful, yet unpretentious 1811-whitewashed old manor house with thick walls, wooden floors and eclectic, antique décor. The bar is self-service – you merely have to jot down what you...

A beautiful whitewashed house in lovely countryside. We were in the Mountain view room, which did indeed have a lovely view over the pretty garden to the hills. Reasonable size, with lots of old-style wooden furniture, very attractive. Dinner in the barn was excellent quality and very generous portions, with a lovely candle lit atmosphere. There is walking in the...

An artistic and lovely space with a pretty garden and fresh water pool. The perfect stop-over or retreat destination. Staff especially attentive and friendly- check up if all is comfortable. Tasty breakfast and spacious rooms. I did a painting in the garden which was very peaceful.

We were lucky enough to get a last minute booking at this wonderful place. We stayed in the original house, full of history and charm and gorgeous art. A home made bread and cheese dinner (what we wanted that night) at the kitchen table took us back to our own childhood. And then there's the beautiful garden that melts into...

Was welcomed late by Allison, business trip, stayed for 2 nights. Peaceful sleep in comfortable bed & room. Lovely breakfast. Great dinner in barn, with Barry's wine (loved it so much, I bought 24 bottles). High-light was sunrise walk at 5h30 with tour guide John, through apple/pear/nectarine/prune orchards onto the foot of beautiful mountain. Fantastic stay, looking forward to repeat.

Located in a beautiful part of the world, near some fine wine producers and fruit farms and amazing gardens. So many reasons to visit. So many reasons to return. For the more energetic there are many walking and riding trails up and alongside the mounstains. We were superbly treated. From the booking to the warm welcome and a prearranged light...

We made an all too brief visit to Wildekrans Country House. Just the most beautiful and tranquil setting. Wonderful hospitality from Barry, Alison and everyone else who looked after us. Thank you again and we hope to make it back.

What a beautiful, tranquil place run by such hospitable people. And the art! What a privilege to see. We really felt at home and were treated with such delicate kindness. The setting is breath taking.

Wonderful hospitality during our stay at this hidden gem. We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and tranquillity, beautiful artwork and of course the dogs. We enjoyed our meal at both Manny's and The Pool Room and sipped on some fine wine at Almenkerk. Thanks for the great recommendations, Alison. We hope to visit beautiful Elgin again in the near future.
